Well so I was finally able to put the parts myself without frying the mobo this time ;). Anyways, I am running the CPU with the following parts:
Gigabyte P35 DS3L
Intel C2D e2140
OCZ pc 6400 2x1GB platinum
OCZ powerstream 520W
I never realized ocing this CPU would be so easy and with the features this mobo has it was very simple and easy. I have so far taken this CPU as far as 2.8 stable and I know I can push for more but my idle temps are ranging from 38-42 degress while on load it's going as high as 61 degrees. This is all on stock CPU too. I didn't push it to 3.0 yet as I was very tired but I will definitly try to hit 3.0 and post pics if I am able to hit that mark by tonight (may need to get some after market cooling but i dont want to spend on cooling when the performace from 2.8 to 3.0 might be very minute. I need to run this CPU until prices for Q6600 fall and then I will upgrade yet again. For now I think COD4 will run fine ;).
Very pleased with my current setup which is a budget built but is running at very good speed and is as fast as my brother's comp and he has e6300.

That was quick for NCIX to replace your motherboard. Also watch your temp, according to Intel the max safe operating temp for L2 E2140 is 61.5 and MO stepping is 72 C

I got the board the new one in 2 days and shipped the other one out the following day. I did cross shipping so they sent me the new board and I sent the one I fried the next day. What the rep told me was they will charge my card for the mobo again and once they receive the fried mobo they will credit me back in the account. They are even paying for the shipping too so I dont have to pay. Very good service, I was very pleased.

Much better than DirectCanada, I ordered some cooling solution last Tuesday and haven't recieved it yet...should have PM NCIX and paid $3 extra on shipping instead. BTW, are you a gold member of NCIX?

Humm...still waiting for that game they said they'd send me.:|

Temps are pretty high, my E2180 gets real touchy and likes to bluescreen if it gets higher than 55-56C!

This is what I've ordered last Tuesday
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=14650AC4741&vpn=BTK-LGA775R&manufacture=THERMALRIGHT
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12420AC7571&vpn=RVT-9225&manufacture=KINGWIN
They just told me the Thermalright bolt thru kit is what holding the shipment, they are waiting for them.
If you goto Thermalright site and have a look at the installation instruction, this thing actually help preventing those LGA775 heatsink from bending the motherboard and I heard this help the stock heatsink too by lowering about 2-4 degree C but that's still not enough.
IMO if you overclock the E21xx series cpu, a better cooling solution is needed...imo the Aluminium based stock heatsink will limit the full potential of these cpu, if you're on budget this is also a good choice, a clone Freezer 7 imo and is cheaper too.

I am encoding some video since last night and it is still working on them....E2140 L2 cpuz reports 1.2v 8x320mhz...TAT reports max temp at 60, I could do 8x400mhz at 1.35v but TAT will reports way over 70 max temp and I am not comfortable with that with the kind of work I put into it. I am hoping the kIngwin will cool it down to below 60 when I go 8x400mhz.
Btw here is a review on the Kingwin

I actually have the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme on my E2180, but like I said, it's real picky and bluescreens whenever it gets on or around 55-56C... 333x10 @ 1.4V

no wonder 10x333...not many can do above 10x300 stable without water cooling from what I've read.

I would stick with Scythe personally for CPU coolers.

I agree but want to try something new, the Kingswin direct heatpipe looks interesting.

Really? I thought there were alot of people who did 3.4+ regular with the E2180...
Only real stress test I've done is distributed.net for a day..

Not sure myself since I didn't really pay much attention to 2180 because my budget was around $100 before tax for the cpu and heatsink.

I see.. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I tried to see what was the highest FSB I could go, and it was only 380 or so, this on a P5K Deluxe, threw the multi down to the lowest and put the Ram down to the lowest freq too, to take the CPU & ram outta the equation.. Hmm
What I'm kinda curious is why my temps aren't getting any higher, before a BSOD... TAT reports 55-56C maximum under load, ever! Never seen my CPU go any higher!

Try upping your CPU voltage from your current setting of 1.4v to 1.5v and try again. Most boards operate with a voltage drop, so your real voltage to your core at 1.5v will be closer to 1.45v.
As far as I'm aware, you can't adjust very many other voltages on the p5k which might also be a limiting factor. I've never used a deluxe version though, so there may be more options.
If you can adjust other voltages make sure you up your SPP, MCP and SSP -> MCP. A lower voltage here may be a limiting factor if your northbridge and southbridge aren't getting enough power.
Anyways, try the 1.5v and set your multiplier to 8x if you're running 800mhz ram and you might see an improvement. If you're running 667mhz ram, run 9x multiplier.
Keep us posted.

CPU voltage has bearing on the FSB (assuming your overall clock is under rated)?

Hey Lincoln, thanks for your tip on the Gigabyte P35-DS3L, it is simply an awesome overclocking board and very stable too and I like it'll simply boot itself to default if my overclocking setting failed, no need to goto cmos reset thus no need to open case. Found it out when I tried 1.25v 8x400mhz.

k please don't lol at me.. Nub alert..
I have a Intel Pentium E2140 1.6ghz I just wanted to get my feet wet in the dual core arena.( I know this isnt even core 2 duo) I like it but now I am playing Team Fortress 2 etc.. and I probably should upgrade my cpu etc but I been hearing about over clocking Pentium dual cores. I was never a fan of over clocking because I think it will cause it to be unstable and stress the system etc,, but I want to test the over clocking out. Could I over clock this 1.6ghz to at least 2.0 stable with stock heat sink and fan? i think it will benefit me a bit in the game
>:(

yatta: You probably need a better video card. What video card do you have? Any Core 2 Duo processor should be good for any game. Games mostly depend on video card...
You should be able to overclock to 2.0, but just watch out for your temperature. Download coretemp to check your readings.

right now I am using a weak Geforce 3 ti200 and it's pretty weak I can run team fortress 2 ok, now water effects though :( but I am going to get a 7800gtx next week from a buddy and hopefully that will be better...

thats why I pm'ed at ttdirect for the 2180 for 93 with ncix and ordered the aerocool for 21.
