does anyone know where i can find chinese fried fish skin in the gta area? im talking abt the fresh ones, not the pre-packed snacks. these are the ones that they lightly batter and served with wonton soup as a dipping sauce. or it can be eaten as a snack.

the first time i ever had it was at a congee/wonton shop at the mall on 16th and bayview, but that was back in the early 90s. in the last several years, i tried the ones from richmond court restaurant and also from congee wong (at fmp). however, richmond court and congee wong both said they dont sell them anymore. the guy at wong sam kee (at market village) said that chiu chow boy sells them. i was at chiu chow boy the other year, but dont recall seeing it on their menu.

Kenny's (various location) noodle has it on their menu. I frequently have it with rice noodle. Yummy!

i was just about to start another thread about the same topic but since I found this one, I might as well bring it back up here.

I've noticed most restaurants have stopped serving fried fish skin but there is one place that I know of who serves that stuff. It's at a noodle restaurant at First Markham Place. Think it's called V2. And they make it pretty good there.

I was just going to recommend V2 too! rofl They serve it like chips and taste great with their fresh noodles. Prices are affordable too, less than $10 cdn per person

If you're looking into buying deep fried fish skin from a store instead of from a restaurant so you can eat them at home for hot pot etc, there is a shop in Midland/Sheppard area in Scarborough where you can find them.

They make the fish balls, meat balls and other stuff for supermarkets, so they deep fry this side product and sell them at the store too. I always go there to pick up some when I want to do hot pot at home, or simply just eat them like snack. They are freshly make on the day when they make fish balls almost daily but the quantity is fairly limited so be there early.

They are located in the plaza right opposite to the Dragon Plaza on Glen Watford Drive, a few shops next to the East Asia Bank. It's not hard to locate.

are you referring to the plaza on the other side of Glen Watford..with the food court? or just the plaza beside/opposite Dragon Plaza behind the DimSum place?

i cant really picture the location in my head right now. we hardly go to scarb area. usually go to glen watford for "chicken and noodle restaurant." i dont need a few pounds or whatnot. just some for snack. how much are they at this place?

I think it's around $5 a pound, cheaper than you eat at any restaurant for sure and it's fresh for sure.
