Does anyone know about the product and if it is being released chain-wide?

I was in Kingston and I loved it. I later found it was only a test market thing, and I believe parts of DT Toronto may have it too. Basically it is just their regular coffee, but served cold and with ice. I really enjoyed it, and preferred it to an ice cap, because it was easy to put in a flavour shot for a little added bonus, and it was MUCH cheaper than a regular iced cap. In addition, you can do what you want with it in terms of sugar/sweetener/cream/milk like a regular coffee. Also, it's healthier than an iced cap.

The main concerns would be, with the iced coffee, it would detract sales of their iced cap which probably would be more profitable for them. Also, it is more time consuming to make an iced coffee than hot coffee, which could cause longer line ups. Anyone know more? I really would like to see it more widely available.

Haven't see any ice coffee in Tim Hortons yet here in Toronto but I do believe Burger King already have a similar product as to what your talking about called Bazooka Joe. I've tried it, and honestly its not bad

I had it in Tim Hortons @ Bloor/Spadina (on the Bloor, across from Miles Nadal) and did not like it. Besides, it was 1.99 for regular cup, so no price advantage.

Brew coffee. Put ice in coffee.

How is this "new"?

They have it on King st. near Jarvis downtown, I saw the advertisement a couple of months now and its still there. You are also able to get iced chocolate latte for those who don't want the iced coffee =]

It should be the same price as regular coffee as that is what it is.

Sort of late to introduce this product, given that it's fall now, and a lot colder. They should have sold/tested it during the summer, when more people would have been inclined to buy it then.

They're just trying to compete with Starbucks and try newer coffee drinks that are similar to Starbucks/Second Cup/Timothy's. Hence the flavour shots too, now. I'll try out the drink when I see a Timmy's selling it, worth a shot.

This could very well be a gimmick of used up leftover coffee/ milk they don't use up for the day and market it as iced coffee probably the same with BK's iced coffee.

I would just get a regular coffee and ask for a cup of ice separately.

I've done that at Starbucks before no problems.

Does Tims let you put chocolate milk in the coffee?

i know they do for the ice cap, it is so much better w chocolate milk

In the USA Starbucks sells ice coffee for the same price as their normal coffee.

Here you either have to ask for ice (as above) or you can get the more-expensive "shaken" iced coffee or iced Americano.

Just a cultural/marketing thing, I guess.

Welcome to 40-50 years ago, people in Asian countries have been doing this for longer than I was born.

Lame.

Silly Tim Hortons - taking an existing idea and charging you schmucks for it.

My first impulse was to suggest they open a location in downtown China Town and they would make a killing but if you think about it, authenticity is where it's at. If it tastes like a white man's version, it'll flop.
