I just hooked up my sons wii to the internet
and was wondering if he can play against others with certain games and what are they and
besides downloading some older Nintendo games what are the benefits
of having it connected to the internet
Thanks

On Wii online, there is a Web Browser (500 points), a News and Weather Feed "channel" a "voting channel", and a messaging system for people who you know who owns a Wii (you need to exchange your friend code first).
Coming soon is a Preview channel that allows you to watch videos of upcoming games and download DS demo games.
Also coming soon are "WiiWare games", original games that are distributed for a fee online, such as a new Final Fantasy game and a "Pokemon Farm"
