[slowly resolved :)] Bumping Threads: Don't these two rules conflict?

9 - No more than 2 active threads every 5 days in any Buy, Sell, and Trade subforum at all times. Re-use and edit threads whenever possible. This means you can either have 2 for sale threads, 2 want to buy threads, or one of each.
10 - Bumping a thread: No more that 2 bumps per 24 hour period (00:00 - 23:59). Any post by the original poster counts as a bump, even if they are answering a question.


Don't these two conflict? If you can bump a thread twice/24hour period...doesn't it then mean that you can have any of your threads active EACH day? But then-the other rule says ONLY 2 active every FIVE DAYS? :confused:

It's 2 active threads per subforum. IE you could have two threads in BST Cell Phones and two threads in BST Everything Else.

Shouldn't it say 'in each subforum' then?

Sorry-but I'm still lost.

I still see two rules addressing the same thing. Two active in each subforum EVERY FIVE days.....but the other says you can bump (IE have active) twice a day?

It just means you can't have more than 2 active threads in a 5 day span. IE you can't start and bump a 3rd thread if you've already got 2 threads that you've bumped in the last 5 days.


If you have a thread that you've created or bumped in the last 5 days, that is considered an active thread. Otherwise we get people who say "Oh that other thread isn't active, I didn't bump it today yada yada yada"

It's not that complicated really.

ok, that kind of makes it clearer.

So OF THOSE TWO active threads (which you're allowed to have) in EACH subforum that you have....you can BUMP them twice per day. If you were to bump a third thread (which you're not allowed to have-THAT is breaking the rules...okay think I got it now)...*fingers crossed :D

Follow-up Q: If you have seven different threads in a particular subforum, but bump no more than TWO outside of five days-that would be fine? (outside of the 'recycling threads where possible' soft rule)
