my family wants to go out for sushi tonight and we called JRW Lounge for reservation but heard the message saying that the number is not in service anymore. Not sure what happened and now we want to try new place beside SO7, has anyone been to Kaze? if so, is it good? if it's not good, do you have any other suggestion?
Thanks,

I liked it and it is better than SO7 IMO, but last time we went it wasn't as good as previous visits. We tried Aji Sai on Bayview @ John St and it was better than both Kaze and SO7, I thought overall the food was better and the service was good or atleast better than SO7.

thanks everyone for your input. we went to Kaze last night and my family loved it. they were hesitant to try sushit for the first time but after last night, they have a different opinion now...hehehe...
we lived all the way in mississauga. i hope next time, we can find a nice sushi place in the west end cuz travelling all the way to markham is just crazy w/ the traffic jam

Glad you enjoyed your evening, try Aji Sa next time. We went Friday night and the sushi and sashimi was fresh and IMO opinion higher & better quality than any other AYCE place to date we have tried. The price is 19.99 a person and offered at the Bayview and John St location. As some locations are not AYCE.

Aji Sai has the worst service ever for a AYCE...trust me i have been to many places and this is one that i went to 4 times before i stopped going. The "owner" is the reason i have never went back.
Thanks to his attitude i discovered Sushi Fun at Yonge and John, in the same plaza as The Friendly Greek. Whenever i want AYCE sushi i go here now, been there over 15 times in the past 8 months and i have never ONCE had a problem with the food or the service and the place is clean as can be. Also they take all credit cards/debit/cash (10% off).
I would recommend you try Sushi Fun next time, make sure you try their Red Dragon roll its soooooooooo yummy mmmm.

The 2 times I went I found the service to be quite good, certainly much better than SO7 or Wasabi. Sounds like you have a story to share with us.

i went there last night, it was good but not spectacular. I definently want to try another place. I was suprised to find out their green tea ice cream was sold out, so i opted for mango and sesame. Then we find out that mango is sold out too. So we just had the sesame and it was good so i wanted another one but then he said it was sold out and that was left was ginger which i got its pretty good. I would have to say that they need to keep more ice cream in stock. geez. And only one waiter is nice the rest are like grouchy. The food was fast and the change ur plates but then it totally declined and were ignore for the night.

Me and my girlfriend used to go there, but we now like Aji Sai on Bayview.
We went there yesterday and know what we like and how much sushi we can put away.
Yesterday we ordered:
1 Dragon Roll (8 pieces)
1 Dynamite Roll (8 pieces)
12 Salmon Sushi
2 Eel Handrolls
2 Spicy Salmon Handrolls
4 Butterfish sushi
1 grilled Vegetable Tepanyaki
1 order of beef short ribs (4 pieces)... they call it veal chops
1 sweet and sour chicken
1 squid tempura
2 Seaweed salads
It's all good and we order it all at once. Never a missed order yet and we are out of there in a hour which probably makes them happy also. IMO it's better sushi quality then So7 or Kaze and the service was good to start with but as they no doubt know us now it's even better service now. 11.99 for weekend lunch.

Went to try their new location (On Elgin Mills, between Bayview & Leslie)
I guess not many ppl know it's even there...was really quiet (2 tables at 7pm Friday; a couple more tables when we left)
Pretty wide selection, food came fast (since no one else was there!).
No red tuna sashimi, other sashimi (salmon, white tuna, etc) was alright; nothing special
Probably wont go back again....spider roll wasnt good and other items were average for an AYCE :|
Ice creams were good (green tea, sesame, red bean)
10% coupone if anyone wants to try:

I live closer to the Woodbine/16th one...I think tehyr'e starting to recognize me now. Wodner if the coupon would be valid for that location too.
Btw, they've started serving Red tuna Sushi...no Red Tuna Sashimi. They were pretty good and fresh...mind you, I had nothing to compare it to, except for Sushi' home's Red tuna Sushi on Steeles/midland (now closed)

no idea. last i saw it had a 'failed to pay rent' notice on the doors....and empty.
mind you, this is NOT the sushi place in the plaza with destiny...
It's silly, cause one's called sushi home and one's called sushi house or something so close. *shrugs*

I tried the new location and thought it was pretty good. My second order of some rolls seemed to be bigger ( 10 pieces instead of 6) and therefore I had trouble finishing them.
I also found it pricey, but maybe that's standard pricing.
