This doesn't deserve a Energy Star rating. Its just a fancy circular fluorescent bulb. Its still 55 watts though. Yes, it draws less than the old 100+ watt (fire starting) halogen bulbs. But I have an almost identical lamp that has a slightly larger bowl and it takes two 11 watt mini fluorescent bulbs.

There is no Energy Star rating on it. I often only have one of the bulbs screwed in since one bulb gives off more than enough light.

For the record, the only incandescent bulbs in my home are in the oven and the fridge. :cheesygri :cheesygri :cheesygri

Actually most of the torchieres sold have a 300 watt bulb, so a savings of 245 W is pretty significant. On top of that the CFL is dimmable so you could dial it down to even less than 55 watts. :D
