Limited edition (500 per year).
A sport exhaust system is said to reduce backpressure and is good for all of 2 or 3 horsepower. Given that the stock Si's 2.0-liter four-cylinder puts out 197 horsepower, go ahead and call it an even 200 in the Mugen.

Honda's still reluctant to introduce CTR in NA.

That doesn't look great. I don't think the new gen Honda Sedan can be modded properly.
And with no extra performance upgrades just cosmetics, I think I would pick a 06 WRX.

The engine is stock, same ratings as the regular SI
Only things that are changed is body kit, exhaust, wheels and suspension.
Overpriced IMO.

Evo costs 27K  isn't it over 40K brand new?

The base model Evo 9 was US$27k or so. You realize we are talking about a car that was only available in the US, in a 6 month old thread right?

it's definitley overpriced for a civic with only cosmetics and no performance upgrade. It's like a riced up civic, this is not the mugen at all. I think probably the americans designed it and got approval for the mugen badge. Mugen are known for their performance mods, its a performance division, not a bodyshop.

According to Car & Driver, the 0-60 time on this is actually slower than the regular Si. There's little improvement on handling for a car that cost $9k more than the base Si.

Doesn't "mugen" mean "infinity?" I guess they didn't want to cause confusion with Nissan already using "Infiniti."

all japanese manufacturing companies are like that, there are always japan exclusives that will never see light in other countries. If they have it all over the world people will not be drooling over it anymore since its common that you see it. people will be like yah its just another car, not like woah man its a type r dude. its true people like what they cant get.

Integra Type R was sold here. Not sure if it sold good or not. They never sold a Civic Type R in Canada/USA; but I don't see why they would. Integra Type R and Civic Type R are essentially the same vehicle; and I don't see why anyone would pay the same $$ to get a Honda when they can get an Acura.
I would still drool over a R35 GTR regardless of how many people own one. I wouldn't care how many people own one; but given the fact it is one of the fastest production vehicles (minus a few; and yes the Z06 can pull 10.9 1/4 mile versus 11.7 of the GTR but give the GTR a retune and lets see), can be driven in all weather conditions, and it holds well to the legacy of the GTR name :).
