Depends - Condition? Timming belt changed (its due - most likely not)?
its an ok deal. The pic there is stock. I can prolly get you better.

Price is decent enough I guess, but it's got the notoriously weak auto and high miles.
Personally, I'd probably pass and spend a few K more for a cheaper manual trans with far fewer miles.

Timing belt is due @ 164k .. I highly doubt it wasn't changed! the owner would be taking a huge risk not changing it ...

Who wants to drive a buick? And who's to say that he'd get more life out of it?
I for one own a 99 accord, 4 cyl, 5 speed with 208k and have no problems with it what so ever!

For $5000 it's a good deal, just find out what needs to be fixed and what extras need to be done for the emissions and safety and deduct that from the price. Even still, $5000 is a good price if you only need to do some minor upgrades or repairs.
And for 180k km, that's average for its year. (20k km x 9 years = 180k km) considering most people drive 20-25k km a year realistically.

You might want to ask for more pics of the car. That pic in the link just looks so photoshopped.

you should bring a mechanic or someone with great knowledge with you to check out the car. if you don't know what a ball joint is, chances are you probably don't know too much about cars and the seller could possibly swindle you out of 5gs. good luck =)

Again, who wants to drive a Buick? I hope you don't sell your car. This thread isn't your for-sale thread.
At least I can speak English properly...

If its the lower ball joint itll be about $70 to replace, upper is gonna be just over a bill, and you should get it changed asap
ball joints is not something you would want to cheap out on, if it decides to go on you...your wheel will pop out either innards or outwards (depend if upper or lower balljoint) and there very well could go your spindle / control arm ..which is very costy

Why would he want to buy yours though? This isn't your for-sale thread.

Ball joint is nothing to be worried about ...
Its a 'joint' down by the control arm of the wheel ..
$150ish gets it fixed.

They are right, about $150 a side to replace the lower ball joints, parts included.
Do NOT delay getting it fixed when/if you buy it, if it goes you're into many hundreds to replace what may get damaged, and who knows how much if you're doing highway speeds
Remember that this is also the LX, sure it has the basics, but look around and you'll see that for a little more you can get an EX or EX-R( I forget what year they stopped labeling them ex-rs) with alloys, power sunroof and other good odds and ends.
