What do you guys think? There is this guy selling it. I have no intentions on buying a Teg. I think it ridiculous and over priced especailly for a 1992. Please share your opinions.

wtf is a B20 vtech?
from what i recall the GSR had the 1.7L DOHC VTECH good for 160hp.
This guy is pricing his car too high. Just b/c he spent $thousands on mods doesnt mean ppl are gonna pay for that.

Wasn't the b20 that made me laugh, it was the "Vtech"
Even with that motor swap, I would have to say no,not worth $9,000, unless there is a lot of other stuff done to it too, that might possibly make it worth that much to someone. Otherwise just a 1992 Integra with a motor swap? You don't even need us to tell you because no one is going to buy it at that price, lol. But then again, you know what they say about suckers being born every minute...

B20 explained above. And no, the 94+ GS-R had a 1.8L DOHC with VTEC making 170hp (the base engine was a non-VTEC version of the same, making 142hp).
PS: Putting a cordless phone in your Honda [VTECH] does not make it go any faster  LOL.

I believe the '94 GS-R came with a 1.7L out putting 160hp and all 1997+ came with a 1.8L putting out 170hp IIRC.

All 1994-2001 Integra GS-Rs were powered by the B18C motor, which displaced 1.8L and were rated at 170bhp in North American cars.

Ahh, yes. It was only the '92 year that came with the bastardized 1.7L right?

There are many 15 year old cars that I would dish out much more then 9,000$ for, a 92 teg with a poor motor swap is not one of them.

B20 swap can be achieved for around $2500-$3500 with a new motor. Lot less if you are working on a b18 already.

Yeah, there are some cars that age that are worth it, but not a run-of-the-mill type car.

B18C1 to be correct.
B18C5 came in the Type-R

I dont understand why people would buy a car like this, when for half the price you can get a saab that's: Faster, Cheaper, Fuel efficient, reliable, more Luxury features, safer, more comfortable and practical.

Wow, way overpriced. We traded our Integra 3 years back and got $8500 trade value for it... and damn did we have to negotiate! they wanted $6500 tops.

Is SAAB reliable? Could I buy it and not worry about it for next 200K? I know I could do that with even the 92 Integra which you could pick up for around $2000-2500 tops

Uh I was talking about THIS integra...
And what 1992 Integra can you buy and "not worry about it for the next 200k"
You cant do that with ANY car.
A properly maintained saab will hit 350-400k pretty easily. Our Saab is currently at 300k with no problems at all, and it's a 1994.

I would still put my money on a Integra lasting longer than the Saab you have mentioned.
Lemon-Aid ranks Integras to be BEST BUY for reliability, value.
People are buying integras at 300K+ with very decent reliability. Properly maintained anything will last. The point is that some cars, you can rely more on their mechanics to last longer than others 'with lower maintainence even'.

Faster? Definitely not, if what the above poster said, a b20 like that will rip your car, a b20 STOCK in a integra will also rip your car.
Cheaper? Depends, but if you need work done on a saab, your gonna be paying alot of labour (the way they just design the cars) Last saab I worked on, to get the alternator out involved alot of labour work which essentially double/triple/quadtruples your labour charge just because of all the extra work.
Fuel efficient? B20 in an integra Im pretty sure is just as fuel efficient as a saab, I dont know but I dont think saabs are known to be really fuel efficient.
Reliable? No idea
Luxury features? I guess

Whoa...A B20 has 350hp, 400 pounds of torque and automatically makes the car AWD?
I guess it IS faster than my car.
As far as I can tell...the fastest B20 engine is what, 160HP?
Sorry a stock Saab T5 would tear that apart with 185 LB of torque.

It was bought for 1800 dollars.
Although my suggestion is an ng900 making the 185 HP...the 9000 is a different breed than the Acura.

Why a Saab in particular? You can put a lot of manufacturers in there to produce the same statement.
