Isn't there some sort of law against that? I don't think you can sell returned items as new...

42 inch aquos $1699 is that really a good deal? Hard to tell :/ , reason why I wonder is because to get a tv to where I live I'll have to pay $135 S&H :S which model is it that will be on sale? Does it have PIP? For that matter (sorry for OT) are there any reasonably priced sets in 42inches with PIP?

Well Walmart's brutal when it comes to buying "new".

Here's me little story: So a couple of years ago I bought a fish tank (small, plastic, $30ish). When I bought the fish people at Petcetera insisted that I buy a bigger tank since the plastic was only 4L or something. So I disassembled the used, small, plastic tank (which was soaking) and I promptly went to WM for the return. They took it back no questions asked. I go out to my car and remember that I forgot that I needed to buy fish food. So I go back in, hoping to get out quickly..and what do I see in the fish supplies aisle? You guessed it, my week old, used, small, plastic fish tank, With the box slightly ripped and pieces of tape sticking out all over the place sitting on the shelf with the rest of the new ones.

Don't get me wrong, most people would point out that it was used, but shouldn't they have an immediate markdown on returned items?

The Aquos 42" TV requires special delivery. Has anyone had experience with Futureshop and "special delivery". What are the typical charges?

Anyone know if this TV will be available for in-store pickup at the discount price?

Edit: when putting the regularly priced item in the cart, the ship price shows up at $55.00. Does this sound correct?

If they were to continue to do that, wouldn't that mean that people can use an item, return it, wait till it was marked down and re-purchase it for a cheaper price. Know how fortunate we all are that Walmart has a great return policy and let you return something that was working perfectly fine and used.

Just picked up the Panasonic 42" Plasma (PX75U) for $1350 thanks to this promotion. Not spectacular pricing, but good. FS price matched it instore in Sarnia.

the 40D is actually on the promo page. the 40D body will just be $1250 during the sale. I paid 1650 for the body+28-135 lens @ McBain almost two weeks ago, so I'll try to get price protection but not really counting on it as it's a web only sale.

I bought few weeks ago the Sharp 42U72 TV at FS and yesterday I went instore to try to have a PM with the deal I received by email and the manager give me the deal price (1699$) and add me the shipping for special delivery (53$) so instead of 2399$ the TV it's now 1750$ Awesome deal for the quality picture. I tried the TV for the last 3 weeks with HD terminal, Xbox 360 Wal-Mart bundle with the HDMI port and both are awesome with HDMI monster cable. For me it's an awesome deal.

The deal was better on Friends and Family day sale I suppose when they did NOT boost up the reg price.

most of the time for these types of "online-only sales" you can expect ^that to happen more often than the discounts off lowest-ticketed prices

I bought a 24" Samsung 245BW monitor for $499.99 in store yesterday:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10086756&catid=25616

I just went on FS.ca now and saw that - the same monitor on sale for $449.99 + free ground shipping from what I can tell.

Will the store PM that if I go before noon tomorrow?

Same goes with this stand that I bought last weekend for $242.99:

i BOUGHT A SANDISK SANSA E280 FOR 149.00 LAST WEEK AT FS:confused:

THIS WEEK IT IS 224.99 !!! FACTOR IN THE 10 % SPECIAL EVENT SAVINGS AND
VOILA', IT IS NOW STILL 200.00 PLUS !

WTF IS WITH THEM AND THEIR SPECIAL EVENTS SALES ?

I PESONALLY WOULD NEVER,NEVER BUY DURING THESE EVENTS AS THEY DISCOUNT FROM FULL SUGGESTED LIST PRICES. IF YOU CAN, CHECK THE PRICES OUT AT YOUR FAVOURITE PRICE_____ CHECKING SITES BEFOREHAND AND MAKE THEM (FS) MATCH THE PRICE BEFORE THE EVENTFULL DISCOUNT !!

I think the sale on some items is o.k, I just bought the Toshiba HD-A2 DVD Player for $269.00, so I saved about $30. off their sale price of $299.

There are a lot of items that are truly 'on sale', but with shipping on some of them, it comes out to the same price as before (in store) if not more.

However, some monitors, like the one I posted a question about before, are still really good buys during the sale because they appear to have FREE ground shipping? Or maybe anything over $400 is free shipping or something.

Question from before:

Will the store PM the 19-hour sale prices if I go before noon tomorrow?

Anyone know?

Yeah, the shipping cost is kind of suck, but the overall cost is still good IMHO. Just ordered the 40D lens kit 17-85 for 1,579.99 + $12 (shipping) = $1,591.99. This usually costs over $1,700.

yes, I did that tonight, best buy matched FS's 19-hours sale price, then -$100 for the old tube TV.

I've just bought a Canon Xti 18-55mm kit for 738+tx in a little shop of Montreal.
Brand new, with the Canadian warranty.

They also sell on ebay under the name irkl123, shipping is 25$ (but i prefer to buy in a B&M store)

Store Name is: ABC Office Equipment.
address is: 2375 Ekers Ave., Montreal, H3S 1C6.
Phone number is (514) 733-6300 or (800) 724-2916.
open Monday-Thursday 9:00AM-5:30PM & on Friday 9:00AM-12:00NoonThis thread is seeing more action than the one I quoted this from so I'll ask here.

Is there a way I can pricematch this at Future Shop?

Futureshop has the LC42D72U model on for $1699. Unfortunately only 90 minutes left for the sale. This is a great price for the D72 model.
