Just a note on the Sunbeam coffee maker. I have one and absolutely love it. It has timer features, auto shut-off and a handy easily removable basket to dump out the old grinds. Much better than the $10 one from CT a couple weeks ago (although I did buy one...heh)

Didn't know it was this one in the flyer because I was looking for "Rio" and not Ilo but I checked the warranties on the TVs and I'm pretty sure this one only listed a 90 day store warranty with the remaining 9 months through Ilo. Based on the reviews from the warranty support for Ilo for the eopinions link you gave imho anybody considering this TV should just pass and wait for the next $799 HDTV deal from Costco (there's been a couple over the past year iirc).

I just got back from Wal-Mart at Pharmacy and Eglinton. I picked up at Xbox 360 bundle. I can confirm that these are Zephyrs with HDMI. Although it does not list HDMI on the box, you gotta look for the "Zep" on the side of the box where the serial/bar code is.

Edit: Upon further inspection, it does say Port HDMI on it. I had no idea why I couldn't find it when I was in store. :P

I think this is better for you. You dont want those old forza bundles without the new heatsinks. Wait and get the newer HDMI consoles or the elite. See any deals on HD-DVD?

Couldn't find the batteries I was interested in (20 AAs for $6), but I picked up one of the two remaining 360s (on the shelf that is, no idea if they had more).

Said Zep on box, haven't opened it yet to determine manufacture date (had to go to work).

It's say 8 on the website for the location near me too but there was a sign on the door off a printer saying the hours for Fri,Sat and Sun would change to 7AM-10PM. Not sure on the close time but open time for sure was 7 AM.

I passed by the Pringle displays and didn't pick up any due to a "not so good" previous experience. The store in Kanata has 2 separate display crates, one near the cookie aisle and another one near the mens wear aisle at the other end of the store last night.

The chips in the "family pack" for some reason didn't taste the same as the single ones. They tasted like they are the bland "Fat Free" version so I have been buying only the singles ones from then on (usually from SDM on special for 99c :D ), never the 5-pack again. Was mine an isolated case or does anyone else have similar experience?

Multi grain Tostitos - not the right size only have 280gr and should be the lager 340 gr. They have lays and doritos like crazy but no multigrain- sucks!

Ceasars dog food only one flavour when I was there - they may still have more coming as they didn't have the flyers out yet and still putting stuff into place....

The Windex although I have to go back it is a really good deal - I picked up the 2 litre refill (not the special package with both bottle and refill) and it rang up 4.57 so I told her wrong price and she said it was the one with both. For 3.88 ish this is good.

I bought the Downy and Tide HE (which rarely goes on sale) Ultra 60 loads LOVE IT!!

why does it have to have a USB port? the wii does not have a charger for their controllers.. nor does the 360... but they take batteries.. anyways..

new controler is coming out... with rumble.. so maybe that ties into the new 40gb ps3...

When you first turn on your PS3, the screen tells you to connect your controller to the system via the USB cable provided.

I'm pretty sure the new controller is coming out early 2008 but the new 40gb PS3 is coming out before holidays this year.

Pretty much just got all the clearance everyday items (toilet paper, lotion, wind shield liquid, etc.) which they had loads of. IMHO, the best deals were on pyrex ware ~50% off, lots of pans in different size and some with cover.

The Lougheed Mall Wal-mart in BC did not have any of the 360's in the display so we asked them and they said there were only 2 left. My coworker's wife asked about the slim here in Burlington. They told her they had none. They don't really care, their son has been buggin them for a PSP for a while now and I'm sure he won't care either. Nice price regardless.

A friend of mine just picked up an XBox 360 bundle at Dufferin Mall Wal-Mart for $397 tax included, and he said there were 6 in stock at that location. However, he asked a Wal-Mart employee if the store is restocking after they sell out, and she said they are replenishing stock on Monday. There will be plenty for everyone I guess

Also, this XBox360 bundle with NHL 2K8 & Forza 2 is exclusively for Wal-Mart, hence FS/BB won't pricematch them. Also too, on the XBox 360 box, there's a sticker label of Wal-Mart on it.

According to the CSR I spoke to in electronics, the batteries are kept in the photo section.... went there and there were tons (didn't look like anyone else had found them either). The batteries in the electronics section have different quantities in the packages, therefore not on sale!

NHL2K8 is a full retail box and Forza 2 has "Not for Resale" printed on the cover. NHL2K8 is bundled inside the box so Microsoft obviously worked with Wal-Mart to pack them in at the plant.

I'm guessing that each Wal-mart got like 10 each of the 360s and PS3s, but also remember that the sale is going on all week and they're not going to have just that little per store all week. Stock is probably coming in later and if you didn't get one today I recommend just checking every day.

You don't need a dongle if your receiver only accepts optical inputs.

Just get a cheap HDMI cable and connect the cable from your 360 to your television. Then hook up the optical output from the television to your receiver.

Of course your television has to accept HDMI audio and have an optical output but most newer TVs do. Just upgraded my old Pepsi Xbox 360 and it works with my Toshiba Regza TV.
A lot of TV's will also convert the incoming audio to 2 channel, so you will not get the full surround sound effect... (if they have audio out at all, which most do not)And most receivers i have seen will accept (and perform better with) digital audio.


Either way, some people consider the price difference reasonable, others do not... everybody's got their preferences, I personally bought the elite mostly for the HDD, i already had a premium, but i sold it and bought the elite (which i also got a very good deal on) it would have cost me $140+ to just upgrade the HDD anyways (buying the 120 for $220 and then trying to sell my 20gb for maybe $80 at most) so for me it was well worth it.

First Sale Doctrine, as soon as you buy the game you own it and are free to do whatever you choose with it. It is not illegal at all for you to trade it or sell it. "Not for resale" ONLY applies to first sale stores EB,Walmart so they don't break up the set to try and make more money. It is legal for them to buy/trade it off you after because the first sale has happened and ownership has changed hands. The main reason they do not take them is they have no bar code to scan so they are lazy. So no fraud has taken place.

The "not for resale" only applies for businesses. As an individual, you have the right to resell it whichever way you want. So if a business were to try and sell the XBOX 360 separately from the game, then they would be in violation of their contract with the distributor. If I as an individual bought the package, and then tried to sell the game (or even EBAY it), I would be well within my rights. As a second hand item, stores like EB would also be allowed to resell the game.

Well, for a cheap compact, specially if it's a first camera, it's a decent camera. No special features, no fuss, simple and cheap. Price seems good though it seems to be strangely a discontinued model even though it came out just this year... From what I can tell, it takes decent pics. At least as well as other camera in it's range.
Besides, for that price, I think this camera is pretty good.
One good thing is that since it's one of Fujifilms newer cameras it accepts both XD and SD cards.

It's highly likely that they're not making any money on these consoles, bundling it with a retail game worth $60 and selling it for $50 off, chances are it's just something to get people through the door so maybe you'll buy some reg priced items / accessories while you're there.

Complete madhouse during the day. School was out, so that didn't help things. Found plenty of everything still in stock, but vitamins were moving fast, as were the bedsheets of all things.

Something to watch out for if someone happened to be picking up the compact f light bulbs - we saw two different lots, both on sale at the same price, but one lot was rated at 5 years life, the other 7 years. The base on them was significantly smaller than my last lot of Sylvania from Costco, but still not small enough to fit into my light fixture.

I got up to the cash and tried to have the grandmotherly cashier scan in a case of Quaker State oil. She couldn't get it to work in the case using the bar code on the outside. Obviously someone's inlaw was in charge of keying things into the system this week. HELLO WALLMART if you are going offer a maximum of 4 of something and it comes in a case of four do us all a favour and put it in the system that way......

So then the poor old dear proceeded to type one bottle of oil in after making about 5 phone calls to try and figure out what to do..... The line behind me was growing, and people were getting lippy about the wait. I had plenty of time as I was there shopping on the company dime, getting paid to stand there basically LOL. I decided to really see how patient people can be when they think they are getting a deal. The cashier she was only going to charge me 7.98 for the case which took her about 2 minutes to type it in manually. Hearing more complaints behind me I made her charge for the other three. It was hilarious there were about 5 faked heart attacks in the lineup behind me because I didn't screw Wallyworld out of the money. The best part though was when she got done the second one she hit a wrong key and got a message to enter a money order.... That required another 2 calls and a 4 minute wait for someone to come over with authority to clear that from the system. NOW the muttering, gnashing of teeth and ticked off stares are really building behind me. I didn't get mad though I just got my revenge when my debit card wouldn't scan so I took about another 5 minutes playing around with that..... All in all saving about 20 bucks on what I bought was good, seeing the look on the people's faces inline behind me when I thanked the cashier and told her to have a good day was priceless.

If you look at the flyer closely, it isn't the Daxter pack that is pictured. It is the new piano black PSP core. In the small print on the box it says that it includes: Piano Black PSP System, AC Adapter and Battery Pack.

I understand that the Piano Black PSP 2000 Core is now available to retail, so I wonder if you were to check back later in the week, whether the replenished stock would be the new ones.

The "not for resale" only applies for businesses. As an individual, you have the right to resell it whichever way you want. So if a business were to try and sell the XBOX 360 separately from the game, then they would be in violation of their contract with the distributor. If I as an individual bought the package, and then tried to sell the game (or even EBAY it), I would be well within my rights. As a second hand item, stores like EB would also be allowed to resell the game.

It's highly likely that they're not making any money on these consoles, bundling it with a retail game worth $60 and selling it for $50 off, chances are it's just something to get people through the door so maybe you'll buy some reg priced items / accessories while you're there.

Forget about Charmin. Its double roll has only 200 sheets while others have 350 to 400 sheets per roll. So Charmin double roll is really single roll.

Charmin double roll is the same size as any other roll, so I would suspect that your calculations are off somewhere, or that the manufacturers are using different standards.

Hardware BC on 60gb is overrated. Most of the popular PS2 games work on the new 80gb, and if they don't, they will eventually. It's rumored that the new 80gb has a 65nm chip too. Less energy used! The Ottawa location at Terminal was a zoo. Products are a complete mess on the shelves and people are falling over one another to get at stuff. Also very annoying is the fact that the only place they show discount pricing is on the anniversary display cases in the aisles and not at the normal product locations. I am indeed extremely lucky and the Zeller's lady is super nice and let me do the pm for the Daxter bundle even though the two don't look alike. That's why it really is YMMV. If bros out there wanna do the pm, better do it before they release the piano black model. No offense, I like the black model better but with the free game + movie + 1GB memory stick I wouldn't mind taking the silver. Went to Markham Rd big Walmart just now. It seems they have adjusted all the DVD pricing back to 17.50. All the Friends, Mad TV all scanned at their 2 for 35 price now.

My Xbox 360 drive is supposedly one of the BenQ's (bought the 360 during anni. sale). It is very quiet while playing CD's, but very loud when playing Forza. But, Forza appears to have a big silver blotch (a different tone then the rest of the DVD). If have yet to try movies or other games (Selling NHL 2K8 to a friend).

So is it the CD Drive or the game? How would I go about getting a replacement of the game?

I think I'm going to try playing a movie, as well as borrowing a game from a neighbour and trying it out. I'll post pictures of the "blotch" soon.

The Philips 5.1 system doesn't upconvert, or play DivX. I decided to buy the Philips DVP-3690 DVD player that is in the flyer, it has HDMI (upconvert to 1080i) and plays DivX. Sweet! It was only $48. I was going to buy the 1080p one from BestBuy last week for 30 dollars more, not worth it to me, my LCD is 720p. Just a note though, the DVD player only comes with crap cables, I had a HDMI already from monoprice, just a heads up.

Mine's pretty loud (I got the 360 from the Wal-Mart deal, BenQ drive) but thats because I'm used to the quiet Wii.

You can exchange it - I've confirmed. I dont want this loud beast, hopefully I may get a TS or Hitachi. According to the Rep I spoke with, all of Ontario is now OOS. They will be re supplied by the vendor (MS) on Tuesday most likely. Would be a good idea to exchange, especially if they are lot 734+ (new falcon 65nm). I also confirmed that I can keep my HDD. But you have to take everything back...

Its pretty much been confirmed the new US price for the OLD PSP will be $149.99. This isn't a clearance or anything really, but kinda is since they aren't making any old FAT PSP's anymore. My guess is now that our dollar is on par with the US dollar walmart may stick with the $148 price.

The Slim Black PSP will be $169 US, hopefully the CAD price will be close to that now, but its still currently listed at 199. The US Daxter and Star Wars bundles are $199 US and $229 CAD. Hopefully things in Canada begin to come down a bit more in price.

I didn't want another FAT PSP since I bought one at launch in Mar 2005. I did however buy a Daxter PSP Slim for $185 yesterday from a guy who bought in on Sept 15. I was happy about that since I wanted the Silver color but wasn't ready to pay $229 + taxes since I already have extra memory cards and the Daxter game and didn't care about the family guy umd since I have all the DVD's. I figure the $185 I paid was less than $20 more than a FAT PSP from walmart now, so I'm very happy.

BTW the Slim is so light and pretty. The load times aren't that much better but the light feel is worth it. Plus I like the silver. I'm keeping my old FAT PSP for emulators and some multiplayer games, but the new Slim is for all my retail bought games and I think the TV out makes it worth it too.

There was a guy on this site awhile ago that claimed he tested all the no name portable dvd players at Wal-Mart and said they all had unlisted divx support. Of course this was before this model had been released but he claimed it was across the board.

Was at Walmart yesterday. Heavy crowd and almost all favourite items on sale are gone .. Xbox 360 ,DVD player and even the crappy Acer computer. While at the electronic dept, there was a big commotion between a manager and some customers ... nearly an all-out scene and a young woman tried to interfer ... Maybe she is a security agent. She nearly got whipped for touching the guy who was already over his head when the manager touched him to lead him out of the store. Luckily his friends with cooler heads held him back. Do they give you a hard time (say by returning it at customer service AND THEN repurchasing it by grabbing a new one from the shelf and paying at the cashier)? Thanks.

If I were you. I'll grab the new one first and bring the old receipt to refund it. The worst is to return using the new receipt. No transportation needed.

if you're asking for a PP, don't bother bring the item back. there's no need. only receipt is req'd.


for returns, turn-around time isn't 2 mins. so if the item is OOS, chances are if you return the item, they won't be able to resell you the same item immediately after your return

I've been holding off since xbox debuted, since the boxing day deals, since the last day of deal w/ the elite. Finally, walmart had the forza 2 + NHL bundle with HDMI port. I'm sold. I'm playing it w/ GoW and it looks pretty good.

mine was lot 729, hdmi, benq drive. but i think i've already had like, 5 occasions where i got the three flashing red lights. uh oh. half the time nhl2k8 would still run, but the lights would flash the whole time. the other times the system wouldn't start so i simply restarted and it would be back to normal.

im thinking i should just get another 360 from wmart and hope it doesn't have the same problem. it took just 1 day for the flashing red lights to appear lol, and i barely played the 360 more than 30mins.

EB offers $20 for NHL 2K8 and $25 for Forza 2, if I recall correctly. It may be the other way around....

Just save it as is, and print that using picture/fax viewer. It came out to be the perfect size for me.

I have a new Aug 2008 XBOX360 from repair (BTW, no HDMI tho) just last week, and I can see the quality is not getting better.... This one atleast is not a DOA unit like my last repair, but the DVD cover is not flush w/ the face plate. It is 2-3mm lower than the surface of the face plate on one end. (The eject button side seems ok)

I gave up for my long wait (almost 2 months!) as long as it works that fine w/ me now.

At BBV, they actually opened the brand new game in front of you... check the disc inside... and mark it as opened. They don't care if it is unopen or not, same price. At least they won't just pay you PP price and sell it like brand new.

As I live in Ottawa I can't vouch for stock in Scarborough but I can tell you that it's a pretty slick phone. I picked one up on Friday for my wife and she loves it.

Oh my did not come with it. I think some of the earlier ones did not have it in the box, so apparently they were giving the remotes in their own wrappers out along with the ps3 package.
