Buy what you're looking for from http://www.monoprice.com/ and you're good to go. It'll be 10 times cheaper than the Monster equivalent and just as good.
There've been threads on Monoprice cables in the past - I suggest you do a search for them.

I'll second the above! I've purchased many cables from Monoprice and couldn't be happier with their quality and service.

I second what bisk and Vertigo said, though I'll continue with a little bit of explanation. HDMI cables transmit a digital signal. As such, though you can buy cables of better build quality, using better components and the like, there will be no difference in the quality of the picture you get. Not no noticeable quality difference, none whatsoever.

I thought the ps3 end was proprietary, and a generic HDMI end wasn't compatible???

Nope, always been a standard HDMI port on the PS3. Proprietary is only for composite/S-video/component cables.

As previously mentioned, there's no real difference in the quality when it comes to HDMI. It's a digital signal, not analog.

i second what everyone is recommending
i bought like 4 hdmi cables from monoprice, plus an HDMI switcher.
it's all great stuff.
i picked up this one
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024004&p_id=2526&seq=1&format=2
u just need to adjust based on what "length" you require
the above is 3 ft...
before you order u should consider looking at ALL the cables you need and ordering everything all at once
u might want an optical cable as well if you're using a speaker system
PS: monster is a load of marketing and upsell.... ask any futureshop/bestbuy rep to tell you what the COST of those cables are and they'll tell you it's literally like $10 bucks.... at least the rocketfish ones are. Monoprice is great quality and they don't try and earn a 800% margin on you. These companies don't make much money selling you TV's, they upsell you to death on cables for the everyday buyer.

does the length of the wire affect quality at all?
i probably only need 10 ft but was thinking of getting 15ft in case i ever need it a bit longer
now i know that since it's a digital signal the cable isnt as important since the quality is pretty much the same...
how bout for optical audio cables? i already have one but it is decent.... are monoprice optical cables better - good? and which of their optical cables are good.. i see different choices like PREMIUM
what is toslink and wat is mini-plug? which one is needed?

i would vote monster, thick good quality cables and they come with lifetime replacement garantee

but the problem with monster is its price....
if monoprice (as many reviews have said) is about the same quality for a percentage of the price, id rather go with that

This is an oft repeated misconception, and is completely incorrect. Digital signals are subject to interference the same as analog cables. The most common result of signal loss is "sparklies" in the image.
That said, Monoprice makes fantastic cables for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. There was a recent test on a site (don't have the link handy) that indicated that Monster cable only outperformed Monoprice cable at lengths of 25' or more @ 1080p

you won't notice any difference between 10 and 15 feet, go ahead and order the longer one. you only really start to see degredation around 25'

you shouldn't ever need to replace a cable in a lifetime, unless you have pets or unplu/plug the cable every day. for the premium to buy a monster cables, you could buy 4 or 5 from monoprice and still come out ahead.

I believe the site was Engadget or Gizmodo, guaranteed one of those two. Very good test with lab equipment and showed the quality of the monoprice cables versus the price of the monster ones.

Monoprice 24AWG, not their 28AWG line

The price is horrendous.
As for quality, Ive had this debate over and over again and the end result is always the same.
This is a digital signal and not analogue. The concept of interference changes drastically...and is much less seen.
You will be just as happy with the 10 buck HDMI cables from RCSS as you will the ones from monoprice (which i fully support by the way) or any other.
Why pay an arm and a leg???
DO NOT GO to bestbuy/futureshop or The Source...Their prices are robbery.

Why pay an arm and a leg???
Because some people have money to burn and want to be at peace that they bought the highest quality possible. Yeah more money than brains but oh well :D

And it gives you piece of mine which is great. We are just trying to explain that there is no need to go and pay an arm and a leg for brand name such as Monster or through BB/FS. Your deal is decent.
