First Canadian Protection Products - Rust Proofing

Anyone have advice on the above product. 499.00 for the rust protection, 398 for the paint protection. Getting 2008 Mazda truck next week.

Yes, Don't get it. It is a lot of money for very little. Crown (not advertising for them in any way) has been around for decades and charges only $110 (minus coupons which start showing up soon). If you want this done, go to someone who will be around in a few years.
The paint protection is one of the worst things you can get on your car. You will still need to wash your car and if you want to keep the shine you have top go back to them or use their specific products or lose all "guarantees or warranties" they may imply. Washing and waxing your vehicle is one of the best ways to monitor it's condition, why not do it?

I'm guessing it's dealer applied, right? Refuse it a couple times and you'll probably be able to get them down to like $400 for both, lol. A lot of times they'll just keep asking you and lowering the price because even at like $300 they are probably still making money on those two things.

The rustproofing will probably be the goop type rustproofing which works but is messy and will leave your engine bay messy for the life of the vehicle. The goop is usually brown but it catches tons of dirt overtime and will be black in a few years just from dirt. And you can't get it off (and you don't really want to since that's what's doing the rustproofing). If you don't mind that then the dealer-applied stuff is okay.

Doing Krown once a year is less convenient but it will leave your car especially the engine bay and underhood areas) clean if you like to have a clean or even cleanable engine bay.

Haven't dealt with FCPP for chemical... but that sounds a little steep, especially for the paint protection.

I have dealt with Sym-Tech for years.. no issues whatsoever.


On a side note, if you are thinking about buying the Mazda extended warranty on the truck... call me, I can help.
