Hi guys, other than the cooling products built for xbox 360.. anybody have cheaper ways of causing the same effect without voiding warranty (opening up the system)?

i was thinking laptop cooler via usb connection?

any other ideas or anyone using an effective method?

can i make a suggestion? take a fan and blow it into the xbox... I dunno how that's gonna help but, hey, worth a try

Where are you going to blow it into?
The 360 fans are pumping hot air OUT of the 360. You'll probably make it works by blowing fans into the 360. If you blow it from the side, that might help.
Just keep it in an open space in the coldest part of your room :cheesygri

i was thinkin of building 2 fans to put on the back of the xbox 360, to blow hot air out.. as well i will add a small cheap fan pointing at what used to be the bottom.

would this be good placement positioning for the fans?

okay, another question. u know how the bottom seems to be where the most air intake occurs? if the xbox 360 is placed how its supposed to be, wouldn't this intake portion be almost totally blocked off by the ground/drawer?

I don't think that's where the air intake occurs. When I opened up the 360, I don't remember seeing any vents there at all.

Has anyone ever thought of buying a mini fridge and keeping the 360 in there? If you don't keep any liquids in there no moisture or condensation should form.

You are completely wrong, no matter what there will be some condensation that forms in any fridge. Mineral oil cooling could worth though if the dvd drive was detached.

basically: the best options would be to push air outta the back of the unit.. and push air into the bottom of the unit. of course its best to maybe have the unit horizontal. i am pushing air outta the back of the unit (like the wooden/double fan DIY intercooler seen on youtube). seems to be not as hot now.. but im not pushin air into it yet. thinkin of usb powered lil fan for pushin air.

please lemem know how u feel. if ur box is alraedy voided warranty, many ppl install their own heatsink, and newer bigger fans. i MAY think of driller a hole and applyin an external fan directly close to heatsink.
