It seems people living in the GTA want to deal only in their area. Not all mind you,but it seems on the increase. At first glance some posts are clearly marked as GTA, yet some aren't.The again some will ship but most want local deals. Some GTA posts state"Local pickup only.....or buyer pays for shipping"??? or "Located in Toronto. willing to meet up, would prefer not to ship" OR "Pickup can be arranged in Downtown Toronto, or Hamilton"Most of the sellers/traders are located in GTA it seems, yet not all posts are marked as such, and yet of the one's that are,it's a 50/50 shot that they will ship and you have to get to the end of the posting before you realize they want a local deal.Very frustrating for the rest of us non-GTA folk. Can this be fixed?Or will RFD become "GTA's Bargain hunting Community"?
Or how about a willing to ship/local pick-up only section,or something to that effect, lol.

It must suck, but you can't forget that the GTA is a large part of Canada's population.
Although, it would be nice if people would post GTA, GVA, or something to that extent in their thread titles.

Personally I find not everything is available locally, it is a good idea but for those of us outside the main cities (vancouver/montreal/toronto) we will have more forums to go through

Most of my sales are not local, so I'd prefer that the forums stay the way they are. :D

I think it should be mandatory to have a sub-sections like we do in hot deals that will allow us to filter by location, even if some of them will be separated by provinces but keep the forums the way it is. It should function exactly like this (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9&daysprune=30&threadprefix=Comp) for computer-relate deals. If they seller doesn't want to ship, put that in the post.

None of my transactions are local,it just gets frustrating to open a thread that isn't marked GTA ,only to find it is and it states "local pick-up only" or a thread that is marked GTA , yet they are not willing to ship, but do not state as such, they just assume your in the GTA.Maybe a sub-section containing "will ship" or "will not ship" is the answer. And don't get me started on users with no Heat who will not ship first or pay first, and yet they have a Heatware account. I can understand when it's a big ticket item, but when it's under 100 bucks, come on!Why did they open a Heat account? How do they expect to acquire refs when they are not willing to ship first/pay first just like the rest of of us did?:?: Ok I think I'm done venting, please resume regular programming.LOL

I think it is fine the way it is.
Only children will be concerned about small amounts and want to deal locally.
I have no problems shipping and I have lots of references. I have shipped thousands of dollars worth or product to BC (Thanks Mark99) and purchased thousands in Gift cards from BC.
But I have been scammed twice locally. Once from a guy that lives down the street from me and more recently from some turkey in Sarnia.

Do your due dilligence. Check references, if you suspect things are not right, they probably aren't and just walk away from the deal.
