Got this 1 day too late. Could have got the $29.99 noma thermostat from CT less $15 with this coupon and less $15 from enbridge rebate (so just paying taxes). Oh well!

An annotated version the 'conditions' -
How does the coupon campaign work?
In mid September, approximately 4.5 million Ontario homeowners, condo dwellers, and apartment tenants will begin receiving a 12-page booklet in the mail containing information, education and tips about how to conserve electricity. This booklet will also include instant discount coupons, which will be valid at participating retail stores throughout the province. The coupons will be valid until November 30, 2007.
Coupons will also be available in stores of participating retailers (http://www.everykilowattcounts.com/HTML/InMarket/EKC/retailers.shtml).
How many coupons per household or per family?
Each household in Ontario will receive one Every Kilowatt Counts booklet. Each booklet contains 6 coupons. However, additional coupons will be available in stores.
How many products can I buy at once?
You may purchase up to 5 of each product at once, using coupons. You use one coupon per product, and can use up to 5 coupons to buy up to 5 products of the same type.
Can I use the coupon on items that are on sale?
Yes, you can use the coupon on sale items.
Can I combine the coupon with other coupon offers?
No, you cannot combine these offers with any other coupon offer. The instant coupon savings can be applied only to a retailers regular or sale price on an eligible product at the time of purchase.
Can I use the coupon for products I already bought?
No, the coupons are valid for purchases from September 17th – November 30, 2007, and must be presented at the time of purchase.
Can I photocopy my coupons?
No, retailers will not accept photocopies or other facsimiles of the coupons and have the right to refuse any customer suspected of using them. Please note, retailers will accept coupons that consumers download and print from this website. (OPA website)
Do I have to pay tax on the discounted price or the original price?
You will pay tax on the original price. The discount will be taken off the product after the tax is calculated.

Heres a stupid comment - WTF is an "energy star certified light fixture" for ?
The bulb is what uses the energy, I can see no possible effect changing the fixture will ever have.

Not Stupid at all... Is this a light fixture with LED (low voltage or other ?) type bulbs !!
Edit - Cantire has a few Noma fixtures (http://www.canadiantire.ca/direct_entry.jsp?pageid=prd&CMKF=0&prdid=0520553P) that are Energy Star rated.

I need to replace the noisy (buzzing) fluorescent light tubes in my laundry room. How do I know when I see them in the store whether or not they will not buzz? Is there something to look for on the packaging?

Ditto here, sent the Embridge rebate yesterday too. Darn it all! Unless Canadian Tire changed its price for this week.
Edit: ah yes they did this was $30 last week (http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6672702&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443294292&bmUID=1190083356136&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true) before rebate, now it's back up to $100.
This one (http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6673961&bmUID=1190083290837&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443276956&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true) with no remote sensor is $39.99, so minus the two rebates would bring it to $10 before taxes.

Electronic ballast fluorescent lights won't buzz, and they last longer and are more energy efficient. The coupon covers it for $5 off the ballast. FYI, the other type of ballast is the cheap and heavy magnetic ones (which is basically a big inductor).

Thanks for the info. Does Canadian Tire sell those electronic ballasts or would I be better off going to Home Depot or someplace else? Is the ballast in the housing or something in the tubes themselves?

Yes the downloadable coupons also. Very strange, those are only electric 'baseboard' heaters... I think that is correct ?

just a side note on buzzing, if you use ordinary dimmer switches with flourescent bulbs the dimmer itself will buzz/hum. You need to use a low voltage dimmer (usually around $40+) if you want to use a dimmer switch.:D

Also interested in finding a powerbar with integrated timer, has anyone seen these around?
