Fraud Alert -

There is a company going around with vicious tactics, walking into small businesses and saying "the ministry of labour is comming before November 1st this year and doing a sweep and they are going to give out fines for thousands of dollars if you dont have these posters put up, and we are the only company that sells these posters"

they then charge $100 a poster or more if they feel they can get it.

they use scare tactics and are acting in bad faith.

if you encounter a salesperson doing this, it is "technically" not illegal.

My advice is to take justice into your own hands, they are fleecing people.

I'm a certified Health & Safety Rep/instructor/trainer at my workplace. We also do some outside consulting and training and have heard of the this sort of thing going on quite a bit lately. Usually it is phone calls from individuals claiming to be working with the MOL and questioning business owners about training and such. They proceed to quote their various "services" looking to drum up some business. Luckily for myself these greedy idiots quote way too high and I end up with the job :cheesygri
