To all sellers in the former GVRD please put
Metro Vancouver in posting for easier local
searches.

i often only click on threads in the BST with the GVR icon lol....

The GVRD is now known as Metro Vancouver.
http://www.gvrd.bc.ca/
To make local searches easier for buyers
sellers may want to include in the body of there post
Metro Vancouver
I hope this is a little easier to understand.
Using the icon GVR still helps but very few use it.

Never understood why they don't just call it GVA?

Vancouver Metro sounds like your referring to the free Metro newspaper.

I always used the accronym GVA heh, like the GTA...Metro Vancouver sounds meh...

Metro Vancouver is easier for non-residents, I guess, such as for Olympic purposes.

why don't we just stick with GVR...everyone on this forum has gone by that for the longest time...we don't need any random members making us change it

That is fine.

How about putting your location in the post?
I only want to buy locally, and I get tired of looking through
100's of sellers posts to find 1 or 2 items I am interested in.
Is it so hard to type in a few extra letters

FS: A bucket of steam Price:???

lol. Just find it funny how you refer to the government as "random people".

I like GVR better than Metro Vancouver. Greater Vancouver Region. Just get rid of "al District". Easy to say and gets across exactly what we are.

When I look at the BST, I just run a search for Vancouver, not GVR. Don't get much, so half the time I need to go to craigslist instead.

Don't get too many hits either way though.

A rule could be made that requires the location in the title and price perhaps..

Yeah..I didn't realize how hard it was for a vancouvrite to search through the forums looking for vancouver deals/sales etc. until I moved here from TO. I didn't care when I was in TO because a large majority of deals, sale etc. were in the GTA.

This is especially true with the gift card section.

I am glad someone agrees.
That's why I put out that suggestion.
Also, I have found that Craigslist is a lot harder to get replies to emails.

i find your reading skills pretty funny...you completely misread my whole post, i didn't say random people(if you're gonna quote at least make sure you're quoting correctly), nor anything about the government....i said that since we have gone by GVR for so long we don't really need any random member*ie. not a mod* telling the whole forum to change just because they want it to be changed or thats the way the government does it...
