I'm designing itineraries, and am looking for software that I can use to design them. I'd like to create a template that I can edit for each itinerary, and something that can easily be converted to be displayed online for clients (without jumbling things up or simply posting a great big image of the itinerary). At first I thought of PDF, but it would appear that you can only create a PDF from another file (which is a possibility, but a bit of a hassle). Microsoft Word might be the right program for the job, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to create a template like I envision (which includes graphics and text, and Word doesn't seem to be very flexible with regards to the positioning of text).

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Xax,

OpenOffice has 'output as PDF' support that works flawlessly.
I use it to create a lot of stuff for my clients, I'd recommend giving it a shot.

You could generate the template & then manually change it for each different person. You can create some really clean looking stuff through it if you're any good with graphics! :)

+1 to that. Openoffice had seamless PDF integration before MS did. I've used this feature for years to create PDF's. Set up your document in OpenOffice writer (pretty much the same as MS Word) the click the pdf button. Poke me with a fork, you're done!
