Since I hate typing on my cellphone, I quite often send txt messages to people I work with from the carriers's website (Rogers, Fido, Bell, etc) but that means I need to go to each website and start from there.

Is there any website I can send those txt messages from, whithout having to select which carrier it goes to ? Something reliable that would detect the carrier based on the phone number ?

Thanks in advance.

I think there is a fair bit of 3rd party carriers out there that just require the phone numbers and don't really care about the provider.

As long as you enter in the mobile #, that is all the 3rd party site cares about.

I'll take a look at a few sites I know of and see if this is the case.

Keep in mind that your friends are being charged for every txt message sent from the carriers website unless they have the unlimited txt as an option ;)

This is how spam texting is going to start...

Spammers will send their text message spam using this option if such a generic site exists.

rogers has the solution

they have a program called desktop TXT where you install it, and type messages in it and it sends them as billable text messages to your friends on ANY carrier, and it appears from your own number. Thats the answer you need, you can now choose if its worth it for you to use it, but you need to send such messages, so if it is, you should be ok with the costs because you cant put a price on importance am I correct?
