Screw PETA. I can't believe the guy wasted so much time and endangered his dog with a clearly rabid skunk in there.

He should've closed the gate once the dog came out.
I think the skunk was domesticated.

Why the heck did he wait so long to open the gate to get his dog out.
It was like 2 minutes of just watching the skunk chase and jump on the dog...
Also, I kind of felt sorry for the skunk after he was kicked since it appeared his spine was broken or something....the guy probably could have stepped on its head or something after to put it out of it's misery at least.

No way would I even think about kicking a skunk!Me neither.
Whenever I see a skunk crawl under one of the other cars on the driveway when I'm pulling in I remain parked on the street for like 5 minutes and start throw rocks under the car to make sure it's gone before I even think about pulling in and approaching hte front door.

How do you know if a skunk is rabid?

Once more, a human being demonstrates he is superior to an animal. How impressive...
The moment you start enjoying watching an animal being hurt, you begin demonstrating how low you are.

While I am not a PETA fanatic, I agree with hover. Even though the skunk is rabid, you still need to treat it with respect and dignity. He should have pulled his dog out sooner instead of taping it. Lock the skunk in the cage. Go inside where the skunk can not come at you and call animal control. Kicking the poor thing shows he has little regard for wild animals.
There was nothing funny about it and those who took pleasure out of watching that are ********.

Animal cruelty is often a precursor to violent crimes against people (http://www.pet-abuse.com/pages/abuse_connection.php), so I'd keep my eye on anyone who doesn't think this type of action is a problem.
According to a 1997 study done by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Northeastern University, animal abusers are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people and four times more likely to commit property crimes than are individuals without a history of animal abuse.
Many studies in psychology, sociology, and criminology during the last 25 years have demonstrated that violent offenders frequently have childhood and adolescent histories of serious and repeated animal cruelty. The FBI has recognized the connection since the 1970s, when its analysis of the lives of serial killers suggested that most had killed or tortured animals as children. Other research has shown consistent patterns of animal cruelty among perpetrators of more common forms of violence, including child abuse, spouse abuse, and elder abuse. In fact, the American Psychiatric Association considers animal cruelty one of the diagnostic criteria of conduct disorder.

I totally agree. A lot of posters think it's funny. I think that's just inhumane.
Don't ask for sympathy when you're dying of cancer.
How about I give this guy a good boot in the face and see how he likes it.

rabid not rabied, rabied isn't even a word
the question wasn't how did we know if it was rabid. the question how can you tell a skunk is rabid just by looking at it, deep said why he would wait so long and endanger his dog, because the skunk was clearly rabid.

Self defense from what?? Was he cornered and had no where to go? He had options.
Was his life in danger? No.
