Even though I am not one for pimping reviews, I thought you guys would like to know that Hardwarecanucks has posted the review of the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 sound card.

I have seen a number of topics with people discussing the card itself but I have yet to see a thread pointing to a detailed review. I am seriously considering buying one of these right about now. Heck I was considering it even before the reviews started coming out. :D

Here is the review:

Anyone else going to buy one of these?

Read it first thing this morning, nice review, quite impressed..just debating between the Xonar and this. That and researching to see if the Xonar does support OpenAL like it is supposed to, as EAX they are "rumoredly" phasing out.

The Prelude supports OpenAL 1.1 out of the box.

On the other hand, if you are willing to wait about two weeks there will be a full Xonar vs Prelude review up on HWC. ;)

I'll be lookin for it, thanks sky.
I think my purchase can wait till then.

The only thing off the bat that the Xonar has over the prelude is the funky heatsink and pretty lights :) OOooo gimmicks. The prelude..looks like a bleh card. Nothing really special about it. Performance before looks I keep tellin myself LOL.

I will not recommend one over the other but I would rather performance over bling. I am not quite sure about the Xonar because Rob hasn't started his review yet...but it sure looks darn purdy.
