How is the 401 West at 5pm let's say if your getting on dixie, hurontario, mavis, erin mills?

All depends ... it can be pretty bad until you get past winston

Go on Derry. The section around Dixie is especially bad (about 6-7 lanes merging into 3).

On the other hand ... I've found Derry to be slow as well couple of times I took it. Too many transports all over the road. >:(

Are you continuing on the 401 west at Winston Churchill? I'd rethink that, and go up to Steeles to at least James Snow Parkway because of the 407 mergers!
