Just bought a Nokia 2610 from Petro-Canada, I can't seem to find anything in the manual about any security and PIN codes. Can anyone out there help?

BTW could the Voice mail be turned off? Thanks in advance.

You are not charged for people that leave messages. You are only charged if you check you messages from your phone, (you can check them from a landline for free)

However yes you can turn it off by calling customer service.

The default pin code should be 0000 or 1234

It can also be 5 digits. So try 00000 or 12345

Don't confuse this with the voicemail password.

i thought its always the last 4 digits of your phone #.

You are right. My last few phones were unlocked and unactivated phones and the default passwords were 0000

Nokia's ALWAYS have/had a default security code of 12345
the SIM pin is a special number set by Petro Canada, its never a default number.. for example, fido is 3436, rogers is 1234, etc...

Call your voicemail access number. If you don't know what it is, check voicemail from your phone, then look at the last number that was dialed. If you hang up fast enough the number will be stored in dialed calls and the call will not have gone through yet.

Yes, you need to call customer service to have it turned off.
