The link you posted for the 47" is a 720p, not a 1080p.

No problems with the links here.. 47" 1080p 42" 720p.. still wouldn't get either though (prefer the 42" Viewsonic 1080p LCD at Costco)..

2yr warranty deal with the 47" ?
Heard good things about these from ppl who bought them when they were available online.
I actually spoke with Vizio NA in California and they knew about these being sold on TD website. They requested that they removed them as Vizio isn't actually supposed to be sold in Canada yet. They require a repair facility here prior to launching "officially". HE mentioned that Costco will be selling them soon, but it isn't official as to when exactly.
If TD is providing a warranty, I would like to know who is providing the actual service.

Should be another 100~150 for 2 years warranty. So far I heard the warrranty came from a company called 3w something in BC. They have contractor in your city to do the service.

I also heard some good things about Vizio. Too bad the TVs have been removed from the website. Maybe I'll just try and purchase in store.

I know these aren't the greatest TV's for black levels and whatnot, but I wonder how they compare to the westinghouse 42" and 47" models? Those too don't have incredible black levels but they are pretty nice looking TV's in person (a little better contrast wouldn't hurt, but the price makes up for it)!

I just returned from the US and saw these sets personally. The 47" is fantastic. Didn't see a 720p though. The Vizio sets are very much a step above the Viewsonic, not only in PQ (better black levels, better scaler) but also in aesthetics (the piano black is very smooth, unlike the uneven and cheap looking Viewsonic set). The GL series is their higher end stuff and looks even better. If I was in ON, I wouldn't hesitate to pick one of these up.

Just called thier Markham branch (Woodbine/Hwy7) and they have the 42" like 20+ in stock but the 47" model was OOS. Yes, it is REFURBISHED for $799 and it has 3 months warranty. However, 1 year ext warranty was $180 and 2 years was $224.
