Sounded great until I read this:

1. The contest is open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec.

I know you do this because of the regulations we have here, but it still come off as being a bit unfair to exclude a large portion of the members at RFD based solely on where we live. Maybe have a contest open only to Quebecers to even it up?

I'm sure they mean no disrespect to Quebecers.

But the fact remains that the laws/restrictions in Quebec prevent just about any contest from being run for Quebecers.

Just about every contest which runs in Canada/US specificly excludes Quebec. It's not out of spite I can assure you.

I feel for the Quebec people but write to your goverment officials if you want to complain.

Ryan, can you explain "random'' ? Are you going to pick a number that correlates to a post? how is that going to work?

Dont feel obligated to explain if you think it will make people try to "cheat" or work the odds.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
6. Individuals may create only one wish list.

How can you enforce only wish list per individual? One can create additional login, and post more than one wish list.

And I do hope there's some enforcement about multiple user accounts, etc. It does bother me a little to see SO MANY users with 1 post...

I don't find the number of posts as being a major issue.
It's a matter of WHEN the account was created...

It's pretty evident that someone wants to increase their odds if someone just seemed to join while this contest is being held.

1. Yes, if a minor wins, they'll have to get their parents to claim the prize.

2. As for multiple accounts, if someone who creates an account during the contest wins, you can be sure that we will thoroughly investigate them to make sure that they've complied with all of the rules of the contest.

I'm hoping that it won't be that much of a problem... in the last contest only one person really tried to delete a lot of posts...

I don't think you can charge tax on something that wasn't sold. Unless RFD is giving the money to TD, and then asking you to help out with the final bill (I'm pretty sure TD is just giving the $500 worth of stuff) then no tax will be paid, since no retail sale was made.

Similarly, to claim a rebate you need a valid sales receipt. You won't have paid for the items, and your receipt would show that, and they won't give you a rebate on an item you didn't pay for, since there was no sale.

As far as I know anyway, someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :D

We're not trying to exclude Quebec, it's just that different laws
cause a great deal of difficulty in terms of contests for Quebec
residents. You can read more here:

1) You have to make your own thread for your wish list.

and

2) That link doesn't work. It's a link to your shopping cart, for us it's our cart.

Make your own thread and post links to the items themselves, then just add it up manually. Just read some of the threads if you need to see how.

Just as funny is the people who link to their shopping cart. Which means anyone else who opens it sees nothing.

Thanks for playing though. :)

Rules and Regulations for TigerDirect.ca $500 Wish List Contest

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
6. Individuals may create only one wish list.

How can you enforce only wish list per individual? One can create additional login, and post more than one wish list.

Some other forums had similar contest as well, but they are not opened to newbies.

Just scanned through a few pages. A lot of entries are members with only a total of 1 post.
I don't find the number of posts as being a major issue.
It's a matter of WHEN the account was created...

It's pretty evident that someone wants to increase their odds if someone just seemed to join while this contest is being held. [/b][/quote]
Yea! 2 posts for me! But I joined for the last contest

If we REALLY enforce rule 6: Individuals may create only one wish list, then everybody who posted here or in the wrong place should be disqualified!
