You should include the ability to see EXIF info.
By the way, today's photo has really bad white balance (in my eyes at least)...

Wow, how'd you manage to take that picture without people thinking you were creepy or whatevers for taking a picture of them (I assume without consent?)?
When I wanted to take a similar pic on the Tokyo Metro, I was worried about the response so I took one pointing the camera down and pretending I "accidentally" pressed the button  (The pic is in my non-photoblog linked in sig, it turned out crappy)

I messed around with it on Pshop, did some level and channel mixer playing, and I actually like the color.
I'll work on the exif info, thanks for the tip!

Check out this dudes site. http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/
He works at a visual effects company downtown and is probably one of the best photobloggers on the net and a pioneer. Check out his archives filled with thousands of pics. Really cool section with pics from the abandoned Whitby mental nuthouse near the bottom of the archives.
And for something different check out this dudes site who specializes in taking pics in the underground abyss of massive drainage tunnels. http://vanishingpoint.ca/

He's really been abusing the wide-angle... some of his more recent pictures are almost, "been-there-done-that".

True, hes rehashing the places he took photo's from originally, not up-to-par quality with what he has done before.

Actually alot of his shots aren't even rendered with photoshop. He does alot of HDR shots through his camera and leaves them untouched in photoshop!

Hi there,
I like today's shot of the table. Other than that, most of them look too much like snapshots. You seem to know how to use contrast but your colours don't pop. It would be good for yourself as an artist if you developed a consistent workflow style so that your photos have a similar look to each other.
Keep on shooting.

Thank you for your criticism!
I don't want my blog to be an art photography blog, but I think you are right in the sense that I need a uniform style, but then again, you can say my style is no style at all!

Actually, when I took the picture of the subway car on the tracks, there were a couple of people on the platform yelling "You crazy flying ****!" and other slanderous phrases, but hey, when the train got to the station, they all got on board and I felt good about snapping a decent picture

Listen dude, I know you wanna be creative and adventurous by taking photos of subway trains and all but remember that sometimes i picture is not worth getting yourself into trouble, especially if its the picture of some inanimate object or not a news event.
Usually avoid photographing in tense environments - inside bus/train or a subway stations. The moment you make people feel uncomfortable is when you stop being a photographer and turn into a nosy paparazzi-type photographer.
shervin2
Sep 3rd, 2007, 06:54 PM
Well the only reason I did that was just to get a picture of the train on the track, that'll be the last, and first time, I will ever do that.

God not more overdone HDR. A lot of people like myself are tired of it. Many people make HDR pictures just for the sake of HDR, and their image is bereft of contrast and content.

I've never used HDR for photography purposes. I make them so I can import them into 3d animation programs (Max, Maya, Lightwave and Houdini) and using them to assist in lighting a scene or getting realistic looking reflections on shiny objects. Like if I film some footage with a dv or hdcam of the city streets I would make an HDR map of those areas that I filmed so that if I integrated a 3d model of a futuristic concept car then the lighting/reflection from the HDR will make the renders look very real. For this type of HDR its better if the images are spherical like from a fisheye lens or shooting a chrome ball. I would assume HDR is used way more in film/tv visual effects and gaming then for general photography purposes.

I picked up a Sigma 10-20mm Wide angle lens, and it should be here before Nuit Blanche..
Are there any RFD'ers going this friday? RFD Photographers?
We should meet up.

So, whats the deal with Nuit Blanche? I know that you can book a time where you can shoot from CN tower, other than that is there any photo/worthy events worth checking out?
were you there last year?
I'm all for meeting of RFD photographers, and this Friday I'm cool after 6pm.
