I was just wondering? Because I am thinking on switching service providers. I am currently with Telus Mobility Pre-Paid service. At first I was pleased with the service they had, but now I am started to get displeased with it. So I am thinking on transferring my number over to Fido or maybe Rogers. I am just wondering how it worked out for anyone who has done it? So any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It has now been working quite seemlessly for many people, and continues to do so.
I'm sure there are some hiccups along the way, but you should have ZERO issues.

Ya their prepaid sucks. You get charged even if someone leaves you a voicemail. They also dont have the unlimited incoming option. In a side note they dont even offer any special retention plans to prepaid customers :D

If I go from rogers paygo -> fido paygo can I keep my number? Do they use the exact same network yet or will I get slightly (or a lot) worse reception?

Yes you can keep your current phone number. Rogers bought out Fido in 2004 and has an integrated network.

Well considering you dont have to pay a monthly fee for having voicemail, which is a $6 monthly option. Contrary to what you think, paying every time someone deposits a message might be an advantage instead of a disadvantage, and can in most cases be cost effective, besides, if you dont want voicemial, you wont pay for it, so isnt that the meaning of PAY as you GO??

I had my number transferred from Virgin Mobile to Rogers no problem.
On a side note, as for having to pay for voicemail messages left, etc, with Rogers, no biggie, I very rarely use the phone, so a small charge is not a problem. I'll have lots of unused credit to take care of it. Also lets me know my phone is still working from such light use! lol

Well my Rogers is really running low especially with the rate increase to $0.40 per minute. I'm seriously considering switching to Fido (unless there's a better choice?).
So how exactly does this work? Can I just grab a SIM like this one (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Fido-Prepaid-Number-SIM-Card-125min-Anytime-for-60-Days_W0QQitemZ150149126316QQihZ005QQcategoryZ48501 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) from ebay and then call in and mention I want to move my number over?
Also, can I stack the free $25 voucher that comes with activation AND the $20 referral bonus?

I just saw that...it says both people get the $20 bonus. I plan to use it as airtime isntead of fidodollars.

Well I am paying $0.25 per minute and when I get a voice-mail I need to waste airtime to receive it.
