Windows media center?

I just got a laptop & read somewhere that i can actually record tv shows onto my comp. using windows media center?

is this correct? I am still getting use to Vista, so have no idea. what do i need to do this? TIA~

Just need a TV tuner and a version of vista that has the media center. If you have those, then setup the tuner inside media center and start scheduling/recording shows.

could you tell me more about the TV tuner?...where do i buy one, & does the computer have to be pluged into the TV? :confused:

You need a USB TV tuner. You plug your cable signal into it just like you would into the TV. I recommend the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2.
