i am looking for a motherboard with on board video (with optional for a PCI-E video card). i take it G33 is the newest chipset for this.

i looked at several ASUS board, but the on-board video outs are all VGA adapters only.

can someone give me suggestions for boards with on-board video DVI out (not VGA out)?

thanx

DVI support on LGA775 is pathetic. The only G33 board I know of that has DVI is the Intel DG33TL (BOXDG33TLM).

Other boards with DVI:
ASRock CONROE1333-DVI/H (945G)
Abit Fatality F-I90HD (RX1250)

Can't think of any others. nVidia is sure taking their sweet time with new Intel chipsets.

thanks for the suggestion,

but when i checked out the intel board (both DG33FB and DG33TL), the pictures on NCIX shows both have VGA not DVI port...

i have a atx case, so i can't use DG33TL which is a microATX board.

are you sure about this?

Most ATX cases can handle mATX. If you check the specs of your case or check if your case has the mATX screw/hole.

The new G35 chipset will support DVI, the G33 is pretty bad, but the G35 is supposed to compete more with the 690G. Release is believed to be around the same time as the X38. So Octoberish.

I bought the P5V-G33 from Asus for the Q6600 processor. Other than no DVI port, the board is actually pretty good. Good value for the money.

You can always buy an addon-video card later for the DVI port. For now, use the DVI to VGA converter unless you want to wait for the G35
