I hope this is not a repost.
Just picked one up from FS. They are already updated the in store selling price of LG L222WT-BF $259.99
Sale End Aug 9, 07
You can see this on the first page of FS online flyer.
"" On the first page of the August 3rd flyer we advertised this item as a 22" widescreen monitor when in fact it is a 21.6" widescreen LCD monitor. We would like to offer our customers the LG L222WT for $259.99, an additional $20 savings, for the inconvenience. ""
I think it is a better deal compare to the Acer 22" one. Except it is 0.4 inch smaller.
FutureShop.ca updated the price online on Aug 4,07 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10089669&catid=25074&logon=&langid=EN#)

I was looking at this too -- but what is the panel in the Back? Is it s TN panel like all the 22" screens?
I also can't find reviews on this monitor -- other than the Votes on FS.ca that give is 2/5 stars.

I haven't had chance to open the box yet. It should has VGA and DVI connector in the back.

The FS which I went to no DEMO for display. My friend got the same one from another store and saw the DEMO. He said it looks as good as the Samsung one.
Edit: Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8400517&st=LG&type=product&id=1179877503368) also has it for the same price.

I think LG intended to advertise it as a 22 inch (see the model number), and technically, 21.6 rounds up to 22.
Head office told stores and FS web to advertise it as 21.6 inch instead, all price tags were reprinted to reflect this

TN Panel, nothing but for that size screen. BTW, they're $279 here.

Also has a 3 year warranty -- that seems pretty good.
And yeah, FS mistakenly advertised this as 22" in the printed flyers, and as a mea culpa for he glitch, they dropped another $20 off the price.

Are you sure -- this is a 21.6", I know all 22" are TN, but if this is 21.6" -- could it be something else? IT does have the 5ms response time, isn't that the TN response time?

At this price, it will be TN panel. 20 inch Dell Ultrasharps still go for more than this. Don't get your hopes up

It shows 21.6" / 55cm around the box.

that's what i initially thought too...
it seems to me like FS intentionally did that and wanted to give their customers the impression that b/c they've made a mistake, they're "willing to compensate for it"... um... yeah right....

I got this at $259.99 in FS downtown Vancouver. However, I got dinged with the BC recycling fee of $12.00. To add insult to injury, PST is charged on the $12.00 fee as well. The total comes to around $306.. grr..

Can those who have bought this please post their opinions of it once you have set it up. There is virtually nothing online. This appears to be an excellent buy, or is it?????

I picked one up today, didn't have much of a chance to look at it before I had to take off. From what I did see though I was impressed for the price, the quality / clarity was better than the Samsung 19" that I had been previously using...

I got one too, since it's so cheap. Apparently this is a budget model of the LG L226.
It doesn't include a DVI cable. Will there be a big improvement if I use DVI instead of VGA?

Poorly shielded VGA cables will create a wave-like effect on higher resolution displays, something that digital signals don't suffer from.

I have the LG226. Amazing monitor. I got it for $310 while this is only $260. Great deal.

I believe that the L226WTQ uses a premium in house LG/Philips panel which is comparable to the Samsung 226BW "S" panel in specs. It's not clear what panel this L222WT is using but from the price I wouldn't be surprised if it's not some outside third party panel. The L222 is a good buy at this price but quality wise not necessarily up to the L226 which is $50+ more. But again the lack of information on the L222 makes it really hard to be certain.

I just bought last Friday. The ratio is 3000:1. But needed video card to get maximum resolution to 1600*1200

The Dell 20" ultrasharp has sold as low as $299 on DOD so for $40 more than the current deal, you can get a S IPS panel, but only 1.6"" of screen. OTOH, the Dell comes with a 5 yr warranty versus the 3 year warranty for the LG. So overall, it's quite a deal.

Actually you don't necessarily get a S-IPS panel with the Dell 20" any more. Scroll down to Appendix A. A Few Words About "Panel Lotteries" :
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=2049206&FTVAR_STKEYWORDFRM=&STARTPAGE=1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear
Note the statement "Dell first put an S-IPS in their 2007WFP and later switched to an S-PVA, whose performance was deemed very low compared to the S-IPS."

Thanks OP! Picked up one at Ancaster's FS, they still had about 7-8 left. Quality is excellent (using DVI), no dead pixels or anything like that.
