So i want to gain size and muscle...
should i:
a) lift HEAVY but 4 sets of 8,6,6,8
b) lift normal regular with 3 sets of 10 10 10.
which way can i gain size faster? or is better?
not looking for toning or definition btw.

I'd reverse your reps for both methods. Have an increasing repetition count for regular weight. Lifting weights at or approaching your one rep max repeatedly is probably the best method to gain muscle faster, but it's advised you use few repetitions unless you are accustomed to lifting heavy objects.

for strength and size i would a 70RM(70% of your max weight you can lift) with 5 sets for 5 reps. Try with rest of about 1 minute in between sets. i believe the range for strength is built in the 1-6 range, while 7-12 is a hybrid of strength and endurance, while 13-15+ is just endurance. Just for future reference.

for increasing strength and size, you need to lift heavier. i'm not sure on the reps though. but if u do lift heavier, u probably can't do as many reps.
try to increase the weight you lift each day you work on that body part

switch it up between 3-4 weeks and rest. example: 3x6, 3x8 and 3x10
I like doing 3x6, 3x8 and 3x12, but that's just me.

i would do either of those.
low weight and high reps for toning will get all the girls :!: try like 2 sets of 40 or so.
make sure that at the end you go really slow and feel the burn
