Just got from Home Depot with my RL paint. :o
My boys thinks I'm getting way too picky? LOL Even my Sister gave me this strange look...I need help. It's was only $4+ more then the CIL/BEHR name.
Home Depot told me to get RL Primer with it...they were busy so I didn't bother asking.
I won't be painting my room, my cousins will. How many Coats of Primer, do I match the Coats of Paint? Is 2 + 2 over doing it?

I'm not sure what exactly you are asking bembol. Which finish did you get and is it a dark color? I've used the river rock finish in another house. I'm not sure I'd use it again though, you absolutely have to follow the direction to the letter as well as the roller or other tools they recommend for the particular finish.

When i worked for RL back in the day we found out that RL paint is manufacturer by Behr (Dunno if that is still true). So basically if you have any experience with Behr that's what it'll paint like unless it's the Suede finish which i have no experience with at all.

Tips for painting. Like all the pro's tell you. preparation is everything. Washing the walls with a TSP solution and not forgetting to rinse it is one of the biggest steps to a good paint job.
prepping the walls by scuff sanding them with a 200 grit paper is also a good thing to do,
Wiping the walls with a tack cloth after sanding is a must.
Filling holes and patching the walls is also a wise thing to do.
Use a light (with the shade off) to sight down the wall for any imperfections prior to painting.
Use very good brushes and rollers. Do not buy cheap tools!
Or
Do like I do, hire a pro that will do all that and if it ain't no good or you don't like the result, the Wife can't blame you!!
Kidding aside, if you are buying all the paint, you can hire a painter for a fairly reasonable price and he don't spill, don't over paint, don't leave colors where they shouldn't be, don't make a mess, etc etc..

What colour are you using? This is important because if you are using a RL red or yellow you better go buy three times as much paint as you expect to use and double the primer. If you are using a metallic, well....about the same.
I'm afraid I don't know anyone who has gotten away with 2 coats of RL even with primer. It's just really thin paint.
Given you have some primer there, I'll assume tinted, use as much as it takes to get a good even opaque coating or you are going to curse it when you paint over it.

I have read on some forums that it is a little difficult to paint with RL paint. My house has RL Toast and it looks nice but I am going to redo it. Google ralph lauren paint and read up on the tips.

I find that Ralph Lauren paint has about half the coverage per gallon as CIL or Sico paints. It just takes more paint to cover the same area. Maybe it is because of the paint's thinness.

RL paint is a rip off. I have bought it twice and have been dissapointed both times. The paint itself is very "thin" and requires too much work to put on. I have got professional painters to apply it both times and they say it is the worst type of paint to apply. I will use Behr next time, with RL tints.

I'm re-painting, okay my cousin is...I'm using Dark Red, I think it will suit my HomeTheater.
Thanks for the tips/opinions.
She finished tonight and suggested moving things around too. Here are some pics...
