Our boys train with a wobble board (same principle) and it definitely does make a difference. There are several studies floating around that suggest balance training dramatically reduces ankle and knee injuries. Wobble boards can be bought at just about any fitness store, even SportsChek...

It just depends on how extreme you want to go and how "frugal" or not you want to be. The one our boys use was $60 I think and it has 3 levels of difficulty. It's actually a wooden disk to it "wobbles" in all directions...

I've used that exact one before. It's very good but mainly for side to side. I think i could switch the settings so the front and back comes more into play. All in all tho, it's very useful and well built
