Hi,
I'm currently working in Canada, but a lot of my work is being done in the US. I need to sign up for a service but it requires an american credit card. Is there an easy way of getting an american credit card?
I have cousins in the US that can do it for me but i was wondering if i can do it myself so i dont' make it troublesome for them.
any advice is greatly appreciated.

Not since 911!
You can get a US currency card from your bank however.

I think you need a US Social # for credit due to the credit check.

you can get one with rbccentura.

PS no SSN required with rbccentura.

You can also try to apply for the Target RedCard Visa. I was able to get it using my Canadian SIN and driver's license.

You can try what I did. I got the BMO mosaik U.S. dollar card and set my address to the states. Works the same as any other american credit card but you don't need a SSN.

Hi. How do you pay off the USD creditcard? Exchange your CAD to USD and
pay? or simply pay from your USD savings account? Can you pay online?

+1. This seems to be the easiest way to get a credit card issued by american bank. I did this a few weeks ago at the checkout cashier in about 5 minutes.

Set up a Green Checking Acct. with Citizens Bank and you receive a MasterCard/Debit.
Also I have the Target VISA.

Just get a BMO US Dollar credit card. It's a Canadian card that works iN US Dollars, so you wont get charged the 2.5% currency conversions that you would with other Canadian cards. This is the easiest way of doing it if you reside in Canada but travel to the US a lot.

Yes you can get a US credit card without being an American resident and without a SSN...
