Driving by the area and noticed a new condo going up. Since I already own down the street I decided to check out this new development. It had a catchy name anyway.

Walked in with my wife and wanted to see a 1000sq ft one or two bedroom.

The 1020sq ft was going for $370,000- an additional parking was 20 or 25T extra.

Taxes will be 1% of price and maintenance was .47/sq ft. That totals $3700 taxes and about $500/month for maintenance plus hydro and electricity. Yes the monthly maintenance is only for common elements.

One thing I found was all the south views (overlooking residential toward lake) was sold out. Only had a few large units facing North toward the Go train.

Well, my wifes face was priceless when i started up the toals.

Basically, she said, "WTF, are theses people stupid? I can buy a house at that those costs.".

I found it funnly but I tried to explain supply/demand and location.

Anyone buy? Any commnents.

Noticed there is another development going up called ideas condos down the street.

.

i dont' live in this condo myself - but a lot of people (myself i think included too) can afford but do not want a house - especially if it's not in a great location. i like the view i have with my condo (a little east of the condo you looked at)

it's like asking why would anyone buy a house when you can buy a mansion in barrie for the same amount

what street is this development at?

The price is right up there isn't it? But that's just the sign of the time. No you can't get a house at that price anymore, not a half-decent one anyway. That's the reason why there is such a high demand for condo because people just can't afford a house any more.

Another condo further east (Beyond the Sea) sold out on the first day of launch last week.

I would be interested in this Idea Condo if you have any info. Thanks.
