Okay, I think it is fairly a common problem. You use tape to tape something up. After you take them off, there lies this sticky substance (is there a better word? lol) on your object...

how can I get rid of them??? they are on my white board calendar lol..I can't write anything now...

Nonono..

there's something called "Goo-Gone"... can be found anywhere like canadian tire and so on. One drip and that stuff turns to jelly and wipes right off!

You guys missed the most obvious and effective way. Use the actual tape. After you take it off, press the tape (with the sticky side) back onto the object where the sticky stuff is left, then lift. Repeat this until you get it all off. :)

Use hair dryer, heat it up, and it'll rub right off. I used the hair dryer to heat up those stickers on my laptop's palm area, peel them off and no sticky stuff left at all.

You can use rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover or paint solvent.

If you ever get sticky tape residue on other surfaces, like plastic, glass or something washable you can soak it in hot water too. Like that's the best way to remove the sticker around a water bottle or jam jar.

Are you sure this 'sticky substance' came from the tape?

white board calendars are smooth surfaces - so it likely came from the tape - .....either way, he just wants to find a way to get rid of it.

i found this by accident.... the other day i was using a lysol wipe to clean something and it had some tape residue on it, came right off! i then tried it other places and it worked like a charm.
