What's up with all the "Hay Guys..." threads?

Seriously, this new "hay guys" phrase is so gay (no pun intended). I see it being used now so much not just in thread titles, but as well as in regular posts. B40 starts doing it, now everyone is copying it. It has gone from bad to worse...

Or maybe it's just the fact that it's an overused 4chan meme, and by the way these forums are, I'd assume no one frequents it very often. Therefore, they think they're being funny and/or witty by spouting the "hay guys" thing, among others because no one else here has done so yet.

Hopefully this forum won't turn into a bunch of rickroll/bel-air/reese's peanut butter puffs trolls.

I think it's funny. I used to type "hay" instead of "hey" when I was younger.
I don't know if it's the misspelling that's a bother or the repetitiveness or even the "guys" part, but I don't mind. I'll click and answer anyways, even though I'm non male.
