On the passport application, there is a signature box. It says that if your signature touches the boarder it's void. Has anyone tried to apply for a passport even thought their signature touched the box? If so did they let you get one anyways? Or did they make you redo the whole application again because going to the doctor etc. is a huge waste of time.

I did my passport a couple of months ago, so I know the answer to this question from experience...

If you are submitting your application in person, you DON'T have to start over again. They will simply put a white sticker over the box and make you sign again. If you intend to mail the application, then I think you're out of luck and will have to start over.

They give you a "sticker" to sign and it must be inside the box...they will make you do it until it's within their guidelines.
