there's been a couple of times when i do a full yawning stretch (toes pointed) and it seems like my calf muscle gets stuck in contracted position. painfully i have to walk it off to reset the muscle back. is this a major problem that requires me to see the doctor?

Same thing happens to me every once in a while. Hasn't really bothered me other than those few times so I haven't worried about it.

Calf muscles commonly cramp up and yes, it's quite painful. For me it mostly happens when I'm asleep or swimming for a long period of time (not regularly, but it does happen from time to time).
It's just a muscle cramp and seems to happen mostly in the calf muscles. You're fine.

Try drinking more water... muscle cramps are usually the first sign of dehydration.
