Leave it out on the curb by the ghetto and it will get picked I'm sure.

doesnt matter, put it on your lawn, stick a hand-written sign on it that says "FREE", and it'll be gone within 30 minutes.

if you put "for sale $50" sign, people will think it has value and they will steal it off your lawn. You might even get a gullible buyer try to lowball you for $40. Either way you win.

Reminds me....

What do you say when your tv is floating around in the middle of the night?

The ghetto neighbourhoods will take it for sure...

I called the city of toronto about this a few years back. You can leave it out on your regular garbage day, and they will take it (if someone else doesn't take it first). As far as I know, this hasn't changed.

The same way you get somebody to take your bike - no joke:

Put it on the side of the road and leave it and it won't get taken.
Put it on the side of the road and lock it to a tree and it will get taken.

I don't quite know how you lock a TV to a tree, but you get the idea. A $50 sign on it should do the trick.

Leave it on your front lawn plugged in an extension cord. That way people will know its working before they steal it. :)

unless people just turn it on, sit down, and have a tv party on your lawn...then when tv power hour is done, they'll leave you with the tv (added bonus, their mess!)

if you want to, i guess you could try http://www.freecycle.org/
