I went up to my cousin's cottage on the lake over the weekend and did a bunch of fishing with my uncle's spinner. Now I'm hooked, but I want to get my own equipment.

Anyone know of some shops in Toronto other than Bass Pro at Vaughan Mills where I can get some decent equipment and tackle kits?

Canadian Tire, Walmart. If you were asking for a small mom and pop store, then I can't help you. Why not shop at Bass Pro? I find their prices to be the best compared to all the stores I've visited.

Since you don't drive ...I assume you use public transit.

You can get to Bass Pro by using public transit from Yorkdale or Downsview stations.

Haha, now you're hooked.
I caught two ~20" walleye last week near Timmins
Make sure you know what type of fish you're going for before you buy your tackle.

lebarons on woodbine/7 have the cheapest prices, but really crappy service. so if u know what u need, then go there. u can always go to crappy tire and price match lebarons (aka lemorons). there is also JB's fishing depot in martingrove/401 area, and AV fishing(i think) on sheppard (near mccowan).
