This sounds terrible. Rachel Weisz, Oded Fehr, and Arnold Vosloo are all out? Count me out too then.
Apparently, this Luke Ford guy plays Brendan Fraser's son and is the true star of the movie, as the studio hopes to hand off the baton to him to continue the franchise.

Hollywood has to stop making these east-meets-west type movies, they just don't mesh well >:(

if thats the case, then it will definitely be ruined.

they knew they would lose a lot viewership if they cut most of the original cast. what's their solution? Target the orient with the plot in the "far east" with Jet Li and others, now you have an audience consisting of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese Etc.
take for example mission impossible series. I don't think the chinese really cared about 1 & 2, but since 3 had a small scene take place in Shanghai, everyone went crazy over it.
as for me, would i see it? sure, even if didn't retain any of the original cast members, including Fraser, and was set in the antarctic. so can't wait until it comes out... on DVD.

Maria bello is quite hawt, I liked her in Sin City. She was super hot in that one scene when she was in her thong... wow!
But honestly, she's no Rachel Weiz, of whom I find too be VERY attractive and much better looking than Mario Bello.
It's also the fact that she was in the first two movies and the third just won't be the same without her.
So boo.. I'm not watching it, well, I'll probably download it, but won't pay too see it.

The Aug. 13 release date is also a sign that the studio isn't very confident about this movie. They don't think it can compete with the real summer blockbusters of May, June, and July. They're probably right.

Is it just me or has there been a new Jet Li movie every 4 months since "War" came out?
- War (initial theatrical release date: last week of August, 2007)
- The Warlords (December 13th, 2007)
- The Forbidden Kingdom (April 18th, 2008)
- The Mummy 3 (August, 2008)
I even hear that he intends to take a year off after this movie.

Sorry but you are wrong.
He stopped making those Chinese movies with one particular era. (I don't know the name of the that era off my head)
Maria Bello is so OLD. Sorry, I don't think she is hot at all.

As long as the Rock isn't in it! There should've been a Mummy 3 right away not that aweful Scropian King thingy.

No, you're kinda wrong on that too.
What Jet Li meant was that he has already expressed everything he has wanted to say about the art and philosophy of wushu. "Fearless" was to be his final film that touches on wushu philosophy. This has nothing to do with films set in a certain time or era. The release of "The Warlords" has already proven that. While it is a movie set in feudal era China, it is strictly a movie with a story. Not a movie that touches upon wushu philosophy.
