Just saw Randy Couture at my gym

I go to a gym in the high park area and I saw this big guy walk into the change room, someone who I've never seen before. The guy looked a lot like Randy Couture so then later there were a bunch of people standing outside of one of the fitness rooms.

I look in and they have a mat set up and Randy was just grappling with another guy. He's a lot bigger than I thought he was, I suppose on TV when he's standing beside Liddell and those guys, he looks normal. This was shortly after 5pm today and after he was done, he posed for pictures with the staff and trainers.

Couture has what is called cauliflower ears. Pretty common amongst wrestlers and boxers.

From Wiki:
Cauliflower ear or hematoma auris or perichondrial hematoma is a condition most common among wrestlers. However, rugby players, mixed martial artists (many of whom were wrestlers prior to their MMA careers), and boxers also experience this condition. If the external portion of the ear suffers a blow, a blood clot or other fluid may collect under the perichondrium. This separates the cartilage from the overlying perichondrium that is its source of nutrients, causing the cartilage to die. When this happens, the outer ear becomes permanently swollen and deformed, thus resembling a Cauliflower.

Headgear that protects the ears is worn in wrestling, many martial arts and other contact sports to help prevent this condition.

that's crazy! Randy Couture is the man, one of the classiest guys in all of sports. And for the people who say he sucks or whatever, they need to re-think what they're saying. The guy's 44 and a UFC Heavyweight champ and even many of the top fighters in the UFC have been quoted as saying he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in MMA (although even i'll admit that's being really generous).

What was he doing in your fitness center btw? That's so cool...

From what I saw he was just grappling with some other guy who looked like he was either training for the UFC or in it right now. I only watched for a few minutes, he was only grappling with the other guys and showing him how to defend against take downs. There was no groundwork.

Randy was in town to sign an agreement for XREMECOUTURE MMA fight club in Toronto by the owners of your gym. He grappled with Misha & boxed with
Shawn while onlookers viewed in disbelief... too cool. He loves T.O. & will be back. Thanks.

That's wicked sickkk!!! I would easily have wet myself if Randy Couture walked into the same change room as me! I saw Georges St. Pierre at Level nightclub earlier this year, but he was in his own little VIP platform.
