THinking of going to NYC over the long weekend in August

The flightt via Airmiles will cost me 1300 miles and $150 in taxes

The flight via AirCanada will cost me 15,000 aeroplan miles + taxes

The flight if I pay for the ticket in full is $301.00 on Tango.

For those people that know about flight deals better what is the best option? I was thinking of using 1300 miles but I think that 1300 miles are worth more than $150 so it will probably be a better deal just to pay for my flight...

300$ for a return flight to NYC is cheap.

Normally it's just over 200$ for a one way, but since there's a promo right now it's 150$ each way. I'd save the mileage points and just pay cash.

I'd agree
Save the miles for another trip
I booked my flight to NYC for sept long weekend via aeroplan and it cost me the usual 30k points plus $240 total in taxes. With european flights only being a small premium over the nyc flight i decided to use 30k points for two flights rahter than 40k points for one euro flight.

Long weekend probably would have been a disaster too for booking a cheap flight to NYC... at least I thought back then! :P

Man $300 return is cheap. My dad who was traveling on business on a last minute booking ended up spending $1200 for a one-day flight!
