Best gym in King West/Liberty Village...

Hola,

We've got quite the selection down here within a few blocks.

- new Co-ed Liberty village GOODLIFE
- King West Fitness
- 99 Sudbury Club

Anyone belong to any of these? Any feedback on facilities? Rates? i'd prefer not to lock down to a year contract but like gyms with a variety of programming and that aren't super busy all the time

Goodlife has a good reputation - a friend of mine goes there and likes it. I looked on their site and it says the King/Liberty location is opening Sept 30. It's not open yet is it? Cuz if it is I might sign up.

I went to King West Fitness for a year. I didn't re-knew my membership. I was told that I would have to sign up for another year contract instead of going month to month as I was told in the beginning. I felt like I was dealing with a used car sales man. The facilities are nice. The women's only gym was nice for me but found it smelled of grease due to a new kitchen that was built near the gym. Not sure if they remedied that problem. I specifically signed up to that gym because of the yoga and aerobic classes they offered. But most of those teachers left due to conflicts with the owner and what not. This is another reason I left. When I signed up I had 1 free session with their head trainer or manager (I can't remember his position) which was pretty much just an opportunity for them to sell their personal trainer services.

A friend of mine whose membership ended was continued to be billed by King West Fitness even though he only signed up for the remainder of someone else's membership (half a year or so). I have heard of some shady accounting practices so beware. Overall, if they had better customer service and didn't rip-off their customers I would have probably stayed.
