I'm planning a trip to France with my wife and son who'll turn 3 the same month (septembre). I was originally planning on ~10 days since 7 isn't enough because I need to visit relatives (aunt in Paris, grand mother near Switzerland). I'd also like to visit the south of France... so now the 10 days seem short and I'm tempted to make it a 12 - 13 days trip... Would that be too long for a young kid? The longest we've left was ~1 week during our summer vacations. I don't think that it will be a problem but with young kids, you never know! I know that kids are all different but if everyone who replies tells me "there's no way in hell I'll leave for that long again!" I'll know what to expect and might make the trip shorter..

Any advice?

I've been traveling with my kids all the time (they're 1 and 4) and they never complained. They like going into hotels, etc.

I wouldn't worry so much about the kids... they can adapt much better than we think they can.

We take our son everywhere, he's 5 now, but we've been to Mexico, Cuba, Turks & Caicos, PEI .... he's learned eary to be a good traveler. As for length of time, as long as there's something to do they'll be fine.

Enjoy.
