hands down the bahia principe in punta cana..awesome food/staff/resort..best price I have found is 1009+ tax in late november

I definately agree with the Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. I just came back from there a couple of months ago and it was amazing.

Food is excellent including the A la Carte restaurants and Buffet. Resort is very clean and the people who work there are very welcoming and friendly. The beach is amazing and the pools are great too. Good nightlife/shows/entertainment.

Overall an excellent resort.

I've also heard that the Majestic next door is also very nice but lot smaller.

The Malaria Inn. Check out Punta Cana instead....much nicer beaches.

Dont know the best, but avoid Viva Wyndham Playa Dorada at ALL COSTS

Majestic Colonial is a great resort. It's in a perfect location. The only thing to be aware of is that Punta Cana is not an area known for it's nightlife. There's not a heck of a lot outside of the resort. Checkout debbie's dominican review site for great information.

The Rio Resorts are good. I said at the Bachata.
