With the Avery kit (labels printed with a printer) I'm finding it's a real pita to align the label sheets. Now I'm thinking to switch to printable dvds with an Epson R260 photo printer.

What are you guys using?
Is there a better way to do it? any service online that can do it and send the labels by mail?

Don't use sticky labels. Its been said that it makes the discs become unbalanced and become unplayable.

I use printalble cd / dvd with my epson stylus photo R300. works good, don't use the bundled cd printer software though since it suxs.

I use Acoustica CD Label Maker and it works great.

Staples fine point marker.

I burn too many DVD-DL'S these days to even care to label them with Style.

I agree that you should use either 1. marker 2. direct print onto the dvd.
i started using the labels and went nuts with them. i think i ended up doing about 200 of them... after putting them on about 30-40% of them became unusable.

Kids can't read then they should *probably* not be using CDs/DVDs, eh?

Yeah, this can become very addicting. I've found that there's really no point in doing this is you plan on burning a lot because it consumes quite a bit of time. Some while ago I got 2 free label sheets with a HP printer and must have spend hours thinking of a good design for them. What a waste!! Now, I just use markers and w r i t e on them.

I can attest to that; as the labels dry it contracts slightly, which can end up raising the edges of the DVD/CD. As a result, the disc is slightly warped and can cause allot of problems. You might not notice this right away however, it may be a few months down the line before you see a problem!

Suffice to say I have several DVDs that are now simply coasters, and a pack of 500 Avery DVD/CD labels I'll never use :D

I use an Epson 300 series printer, it print directly onto the dvd/cd.
